Factory Options

I have a 2006 SR5 V6 that has no upgrade options on it.

My question is...If there was an option available like the Steering Wheel Controls and Auto headlight on/off, etc, is the factory wiring still there for that component?

For example, if I wanted to add 115 VAC in the center console, is the wiring already there in the factory wire harness just waiting to be connected to the hardware i have to add?

Another example is the roof console, If I wanted to swap out the plain one with the one with garage door openers, is the power already there or do I have to run new.

Hopefully I didn't confuse anyone.

Sometimes buts not always. Try searching the forum, because I know there's threads out there about installing 115VAC inverter and I'm sure there ones about installing other factory options.

The roof console with homelink (garage door opener) would be work even if the specific wiring isn't there because you could always tap into the power from the maps lights BUT I don't know if your can get a console with homelink and no sunroof switch.

On the steering wheel, I know mine is wired for the right bank of steering wheel switch (ones used for bluetooth) eventhough it only came from the factory with the left bank. However I'm not sure about ones that came without steering wheel controls all together.

I know this is an old thread but I have been searching for the same thing. I have not really found anything on here as of yet. Anyone have a link or something to point me in the right direction?

I can only answer on the garage door console. I asked this as well. If I remember right Jimithing had installed one and shared this link with me.

It's been a while since I've read about it, but I believe there was a thread here about adding the Auto headlights.

He had to purchased the turn signal stalk/light switch & the light sensor that goes near the front window defroster vents, on the driver's side.

That's the main thing my wife wants is the auto lights. Maybe I just need to get a hang of this sites search feature but I couldn't find anything on it.

I will take a look at the garage door add on aswell. Thanks guys.
