I'm in the process of fixing up a 95 4Runner. Looking to change out the old wheels. My question is are all factory 4Runner wheels enterchangable? Can you swicth newer models wheels to different generation 4runners?
I can't fully answer your question, but I can offer what I know for sure. My 91 came with factory 15x7 steel wheels. I bought a set of Factory Enkei alloy wheels from a 98 Tacoma 4wd. They are also 15x7 and have the same backspacing. They fit great and look awesome for the 100 bucks I paid for them. I'm pretty sure most 6 lug wheels will bolt up. Not all will work because of wrong backspacing.
All IFS wheels are interchangeable as far as I know. You can use the rims from an 79-85 even. You cannot use IFS wheels on a solid axle truck due to the deeper backspacing which causes interference with the tierod. A 1" spacer will remedy the problem however.
