Factory XReas Central Damper Part Number

I have a 04 4Runner Sport with Xreas. No leaks anywhere. Suspension is smooth, no body roll, but very bouncy up front when I hit a dip in the road. bounces several times before settling. After researching the Xreas system, I have come to the conclusion that the central dampers are at fault.

I have found the part numbers and diagram for the shock absorbers at partznet, but cannot find the central dampers. Any help?

Sounds like front shocks are toast.
The Xreas system reduces body roll , so unless your leaning more than normal on a turn it's not the problem.

Do a hard brake test and see if it nose dives. Mine was nose diving noticeably without any sign of leaks. New shocks/springs all around fixed the problem.

The xreas system is a complete system with proprietary shocks. Very expensive to service and replace with OEM parts. I think only dealerships can replace the system or any of its components, and refill the fluid. Everyone ditches xreas and upgrades to aftermarket shocks.

You may find a used xreas system on here from time to time if you really want to keep it.

My X-REAS failed at 138,000 km (or 85,750 miles) on my 03 Limited. There was a leak in the system - in the line behind the Driver’s Side Centre Control Absorber. Leak was likely caused by corrosion of the line due to road salt used up here during our Canadian winters.

Fluid that had dripped onto the driveway was the first indicator of some sort of problem. As more fluid leaked out of the system, the suspension became worse.

I removed the entire X-REAS system (it was too costly to replace at the time - but the lines are still there), and I had installed the standard 4Runner SR5 suspension (to keep it relatively stock).

From what I've read, there is no gas charge in the shocks themselves, just oil. If there is no leaks in the shocks, they are fine and doing their job. The dampening is done by the central dampers which have the gas charge. So the damping is done by the central dampers. The is NOT harsh, not bottoming out, just bouncy, which is controlled by the central dampers.

There are check valves in the system that allows you to change components out individually. Each component comes pre-filled with oil so you don't loose any or get any air in the system.

I just took off the Xreas components off from my 2006 4runner v8 4x4, there were no leaks. Took everything off at the check valves per factory disassembly. Let me know if you need any parts.
