I have a question regarding my 2010 4Runner. There is a faint noise that beeps after a recent maintenance required light went on but I am not sure what it is. It is very faint and only lasts a few seconds before it turns off. Then after a couple minutes it comes back on. Yesterday, out of nowhere, the hazard lights started blinking and all the interior lights came on and we were unable to shut them off. Very strange stuff happening out of nowhere. Anyone have this trouble before or know what could be causing this?

You're not hearing things! A few days ago, I was driving along and one of the few times I had the radio off, I heard a faint beeping from the driver side of the truck. And when I say faint, I mean that my wife could not hear it until she leaned over to my side and then, could barely hear it. I almost considered that it was in my head until I turned the truck off and restarted it and it was gone.
It didn't sound like it was coming from the dash area though. It sounded more like the driver seat; underneath. That was the first and last time I heard it.

When it comes to electrical gremlins, rodents are among the first things to check for. And really common.

Also, is your car starter aftermarket? I’d check the hood switch. These can sometimes be damaged when the hood is slammed shut and cause squirrly problems

I apologize in advance for resurrecting an old post, but I had this same issue last night. Sound was faint, and seemingly random--the beeps were all about 1 second apart, sometime a single beep and then quiet for 3 or 4 seconds, then 3 beeps, 3 beeps, quiet, 9 beeps, 1 beep--you get the picture. Absolutely no dash lights lit up, temp and voltage all normal. Turned off cd, radio, Sirius, if car was running it was beeping. Seat belt, door ajar, back window--no joy. Stopped the car, shut it off, restarted, yep, still beeping.
And then after about 45 minutes it stopped.
I ran the car today long enough to get up to temp and beeping still gone. Anybody else dealt with this? I've got a 2010 Limited with 222,000 miles that has been faultless until this.
