Fair selling price

Well, I wanted to drive this vehicle into the ground.... still kinda do ..... but sometimes things change. Life is hectic, taking 2 kids to daycare and getting to work early. We are considering having my wife stay home. I'm really excited about this opportunity, but unfortunately it means selling the 4Runner and buying a beater.

Just trying to get an idea of what you guys think would be a fair selling price.

2008 Limited V8
White exterior, Grey interior
74,500 miles
As with any vehicle it does not look like the day it rolled off the showroom floor, but there are no big scratches etc. No dents, no rust.
Transfer case actuator new as of March 2013.
There is not an option I know of that it doesn't have: Nav, Rear air susp etc. I think it has everything it was possible to have.
The only bad news is that it does have the hairline cracks in the exhaust manifolds and you can hear it for about the first 5 minutes of driving.

So - what do you all think?

Congrats on making a very important choice! The Toyota is just a vehicle, your kids should be your life even though they are super hard sometimes.

Around here, Minnesota, that 4Runner would be listed around $20k, probably maybe.

More importantly, staying home with our kiddos is the best thing for our family we could have done. You won't miss the milestones, you can influence your childs behavior in a positive manner, and they will know about some of the sacrifices you made to stay home with them, love and nurture them.

Yes, it's 4x4.

Seems most of the ones advertised around here is anywhere between 20-22K.

22K seems high! But hey - who am I to complain about dealers asking that much!

So things are still up in the air. Honestly could go either way right now. She likes her job which is a factor, and my 2 yr old daugher LOVES her schoo/daycare. I dont' think there is a bad choice here - it's just gonna be a lot of thinking.

For now SnowWhite is safe in the garage...

I do not envy your decision. I know family comes first, but I do have an emotional attachment to my T4R. Is that weird?

I don't envy your decision either because I've been in a somewhat similar position. Except my 2 year old daughter is an only child. Our decision was to keep her in day care for the simple fact that it helps build her social interaction with others.

If your wife loves her current job, that's very hard to come by these days. If she quits to stay home with the kids, is she going to be satisfied that she is doing what she loves? I've always said, the best job to have is a job that doesn't feel like "work." Just something she should consider if she really loves what she is doing.

It would be rather spectacular to spend the entire day with my kid. But then again, spending the day at work, then coming home, makes those evening hours even better.

Oh, and around here your truck would probably list for $20-23k. I live in the north-eastern Oklahoma area.
