So i guess i figured i should start a build thread so here goes nothing.

DIY Magnet Handgun Seat Mount

and there is another one in the passenger door storage pocket that holds the gun perfectly without falling or really moving at all (and i have off roaded with it attached and it didnt fall)

Im making another one also that allows for the actual holster too

Do you have a link for the amber lights and possibly a write up on how you installed them? Also we just got back from Yellowstone and a 2 week trip out west. Hope it was fun, and a great looking rig!

i am a fan of any SR5 builds...shows the rig is worthy, even at the base levels...

Do you have a link for the amber lights and possibly a write up on how you installed them? Also we just got back from Yellowstone and a 2 week trip out west. Hope it was fun, and a great looking rig!

I do not have a write up on the forum but it is fairly easy so i will try explain here

First the lights are used are this link

The lights are pretty well built, i actually will be installing them under the rig near the side steps to illuminate the steps both when a door is open and while parking lights are on

Anywho... for the grill ones in my picture i put a small metal bracket behind them (which you can buy at home depot) or you can zip tie them to the grill

I then wired them to the same wire that powers the parking corner lamps that stay constantly on when headlights are on.. but if you want you can tap them instead in to the hazard/turn signal lights and that way they only turn on when you use hazards or turn signals... either way looks pretty cool

You can either wire them directly to the wire that powers the yellow marker lights on your rig or you can use a relay but in this case I just wired them directly...

If you go to my album there should be a picture of my license plate frame that i custom made using these same marker lights and i set those up to work off turn signals and hazards and a red one to turn on with brakes.

If you are wondering how i tapped into the wires you do not have to cut them just use a "Quick Splice / Tap-In " i think is what its called google search that term and look at the pics and you will see what it does and how it works

hope that helps in the mean time i will try to write a diy how to on these lights when i find some time

And ya our Yellowstone trip was amazing if you search on instagram the Hashtag (not the user) #FLtoYellowstone you can see all the pics from our trip and great shots of the rig too haha

Great build but...
Those are quite possibly the worst way to tie in power to any component. Wires are exposed, not sealed and accumulate corrosion which could lead to a wiring repair nightmare further down the road.
I always use heat shrink on any "new" wire connections.
Just my .02$

I hear you and ya i dont leave them exposed ofcourse 1.) I use liquidtape i think is what its called 2.) After that i use actual electrical tape on them and 3.) I use wire covers and then tape those sealed as well... is it perfect? Probably not but it works well for me and they are fused ofcourse

Can you elaborate more on how the gun's being held on there?

they are at harbor freight for a few bucks and they have different size ones if you have a larger or smaller handgun im sure you can find one that works...

a better place maybe the glove compartment or center console but it will take you an extra step to access it... in the event of an emergency...

I really like what you have done with your car.

I just had a question about the tires.
The 285 KO2 have a rim range of 7.5-9.
The SR5 rims are 7.
Have you run in to any issues running those tires?
