Fatmat help

I've got a roll of fatmat and I'm looking to do the front door panels. i've searched around and not found many photos. The door panel is a MESS of holes, wires, screws, etc. I'm wondering if it's even worth it. Anyone done this before?

God bless you my good man. I've been looking things over and I think that it would be best to wait until it's a bit warmer so that the fatmat will stick and form better. I'll post pics when it's in. Thanks again.

Are you just using it for road noise or do you actually have some subs?

No subs. Yet. I thought it would be a fun project. I'm hoping that it'll make the speakers sound a little better. It'll be interested to see how much road noise it cuts down.

you might want to try a product called Lizard skin you can spray it on and it will not fall apart and best of all no cutting. just a thought

Yes, it is worth it.

Fatmat, Peal N Seal, Dynomat, etc are all much better than that spray stuff.

Doing the front doors will make a noticeable difference. It will improve the sound of your stock speakers, but remember, you can't make chicken salad from chicken sh*t!

Yeah. I'll post up some photos when it's done. It's just too cold over here right now. I'm hoping for Monday next week. Should be in the 70's.

I actually just used something similiar to Peel and Seal last night. I got it at home depot, and it has some type of fiberglass in it to add additional support. I had a HUGE issue with vibrations in the tail gate from my subs. Got 75sq. ft. for around 50 bucks. Only put one layer on so if I didn't like it, I could take it off a little easier than 2 layers. Haven't really heard it from the outside yet, but oh man does it sound soo much better on the inside. Bass is a lot cleaner and hits harder. Now I just need to find some way of reducing the roof flexing. I had to take off the cross members of the roof racks since the sheet metal was flopping against them.

Wow. Thats a good price. 25 square feet of Fatmat was $50 I think, from ebay.

OK another trick when it is cold out side is to use a heat gun or a hair dryer to help make it more flexible and easier to work with. You dont have to get it hot just warm enough.
