Feeler: Sport Hood & Trail Gear Sliders

I know this isn't the classifieds section, but I will get more attention here and these are 3rd gen specific. I'm thinking of selling my 2000 sport hood and Trail Gear sliders. I bought some tires used, but they are too loud for my family and needs at this point and I need the extra cash to buy new tires.

The sport hood is off a 2000 Highlander and is Millennium Silver. It has some scratches on it, but the hood is straight. I'm looking for $250 and only local.

The Trail Gear Sliders are brand new and 67" long. Looking for $100 and only local.

It pains me to sell both of these and I will regret it, but I need new tires and I really don't know when I will be able to paint the sport hood anyways. It's been sitting in my garage for 9 months already.

The sliders are weld on. I know of a guy who would be able to weld them on for $100 in the Bay Area. That is what he offered to me and I'm sure the offer would extend to others.

get the BFG AT/S tires. they are great off road, look aggresive and are whisper quiet.

The Grabber AT2 are slightly cheaper, pretty much the same tire and are also very quiet.

x2 I had those on my last vehicle. Really thick lugs, mine were freakin' awesome in wet slimey stuff.

Yeah I plan on going with the BFG's or possibly the Generals. T4R4Life has the generals as well and he likes them. I might also buy these. BFG All Terrains and MM Chrome 951's - Tacoma World Forums I will plasti-dip the rims because I hate the chrome. I just have to run this by the boss lady. :whipping2

Is $250 cheap? I thought it was expensive, but I think I remember a hood all set up from Toyota for ~$375.

Matt you have an LKQ in Raleigh, contact them and their other locations and see if you can find something. When I was in Savannah the local affiliate helped me locate one in Panama City, FL and shipped to me virtually free.

Not at this moment. They are packaged up and the top half has been torn off from the PO to show me. They have some slight surface rust from some flooding that happened, but nothing a scotch brite pad wouldn't fix. Here is the link to the TG site and a link to with a member who has them mounted. The ones I have are 67" which are the correct size for our 4runners.

Yeah we use LKQ alot at our dealership and we usually get the hookup! ive been and walked around the one in raleigh and they are all nice people.

Haha, I wish. I've been doing that, but they still wail and I can't have the stereo turned all the way up when the baby is sleeping in the 4runner. So I will just have to listen to the hum. Plus the on road driving is a bit bumpy do to the E rated and tread design. I really hate to sell the hood, but I can't see myself doing anything with it for 3-6 months anyways. Also it is just a hood that is non functional besides looking awesome. :guitar3: Rather get the tires that will keep my family happy and safe.
