Hey guys! I have a 2007 SR5 V6 with 130,000 miles on it. It's completely stock. Great condition mechanically. I just added Duratracs last summer. I'm in the position now where one of my front shocks is going out. I spotted that it's leaking. Soooooo, that means i have to replace it, and of course both of the fronts. And that also means, I mind as well replace all four corners.
I know it's gonna cost roughly $340-400 for all four bilsteins. What I'd like to do is just do bilsteins and stock springs. I'd like to set the fronts at .85. I'm only anticipating a slight lift up front to get more clearence and have a more "leveled" look. In the future, I'd like to upgrade those springs, but I want to do it correctly with a UCA replacement. I also know if i add FJ shocks and go with a 1.75 setting up front, I might need a small spacer in the back. And I just don't wanna get into all that right now.
I'm asking if anyone out there would like to help! Maybe someone loves doing this stuff for kicks. I dunno. I have a neighbor's father that does mechanic work all day long, but he's probably not intimately familiar with a 4th Gen 4Runner.
I know if I do it myself, it'll probably take 8-12 hours. If I have someone who knows what they are doing, and has done this before, it might take 3-4 hours.
I'll supply the 6 (or 12) pack of beer, maybe we will order a pizza. Hell, we can drag the TV outside if need be. I don't have a garage. I DO have basic tools.... and access to the neighbors assortment of tools.
Or maybe you have a garage you can loan out for this endeaver.
