I have a 1995 T4R 3.0 automatic. When I step on the gas and start to go it feels like the TQ convertor isn't working right. Around 2000 rpm the truck starts to move like it getting power. Before that it barely moves out of its own way. Am I imagining things or are these trucks just that heavy they need that much stall to get going? I also have a 64 F-100 that weighs 4000 lbs and a 2400 stall convertor but it moves just fine when I press the gas. Then again 480 hp does move alot. Thanks for your imput.

My 92 seems to do the same thing, but only when its dead-cold in the mornings. I think the converter is a little weak, by now, with 180K on the clock. These aren't the lightest of vehicles, either. And , you're right, the 3.0 doesn't have a lot of 'umph' , until you get off idle around 2000 rpms. Just my .02.
