I did an advanced search and couldn’t find my issue exactly.
I have 90k miles on 16 TEP. Over the last few months, I’ve noticed a difference in my stall speed. That’s the best term I can think of. Essentially, when I let off the brake in either drive or reverse, the vehicle will barely move. Unlike it used to. Once I give it some gas it drives fine. Shifts smooth. It does hunt for gears at times, but it’s always been that way. No difference in fuel mileage. No shudders that I can tell. But it is a definite difference in how much and fast it would move when I let off the brake. My driveway has a slope and it used to go up it slowly with no accelerator. Now, it will roll back down if no gas is given…
From what iI read, it seems like torque converter could be the issue. Or maybe worn out fluid?
I have not changed the trans fluid yet. I do tow but not extremely heavy. I have an OBD II scanner that I’m able to monitor temps when towing. I’ve done my best to keep it from getting too high. Mostly I’m towing a couple of jet skis that maybe weigh around 3,500 lbs…
I appreciate any thoughts. Most likely, I will change the trans fluid and filter and inspect the pan and magnets. Then see if there is a difference before I take it to a shop…
