Fender Fade Solutions for Black Beauty?

Anyone have a DIY, cheap, yet effective, and fool proof-ish way to bring my fenders back to life?

Only way to do it is have a shop spray them.. I wonder if anyone diy With duplicolor???

Yeah paint is your only option. I was going to hit mine with spray bed liner but sold the truck.

Same deal here, you're gonna have to paint them; there's not much else you can do.

Thanks guys. Has anyone painted the fenders themselves? Plastidip? Duplicolor? Bedliner? Sand, mask, rattle can? Self levelling marine paint with a roller?

I've got the same milky clear coat problems with the tops of my fenders on my my '08 - very disappointing.

If you want it to look good then a body shop is where you need to go.

I'm at work right now but I'll post pictures later. I rattle canned mine. Spend a lot of time taping the edges and making sure the vehicle is covered. Not a fun job for an impatient person.

Mine had the typical Arizona fade on the flares. I buffed the hell out of them with my rotary buffer and got them about 90%. I will probably repaint them this spring to make perfect. My grill and rear gate surround was faded a little also. Ive repainted plenty of stuff with great results. Its all about the prep work. i could probably do a whole car if I wanted. For this I will buy my own paint and clear myself. No point in paying someone.

I plastidipped one and debating if I should do the rest. Tried the Matte and didn't like it. So, I tried a glossiffier on top to give it a fj textured look. But, I will probably get them painted in the end.

I have the same issue on my black '04.

Just the other day I was wondering what it would look like Plastidipped... Got my answer. I do think it looks good but not for me.

Did/does Toyota use sub-par paint or clear? My truck is a MESS. The roof, hood, and fenders are all showing heavy clear coat fade. Also, my truck has 'crows feet' EVERYWHERE. Its so annoying.

Anybody tried to paint the fender flare panels and get close to a factory finish?

One of my panels doesn't have finish paint, looks close to the one truckhigh posted. Debating between attempting to repaint it myself or buying a pre-finished panel from the dealer (~$200+)

The tops of my fenders on my black 4runner are faded as well. After a full detail with polish and wax or sealant, they look OK, and are less noticeable.

I plan to re paint them myself this spring. I've got a few clips that are broke, so will need to pull them off anyways.
