Fender Flare Bumpers

I'm looking for something to go with my arb front bumper, rear bumper and side nerf bar.
The only part of my truck left unprotected would be the front quarter panels and doors to some degree. I was wondering if anyone knew of the bumpers i'm looking for.
And if there's any kind of protection bumper available that could go anywhere else on the truck i would be interested as well. I've seen a few on other 4runners (mines a 1985) but i haven't been able to find out exactly what they are.
If anyone knows of any steel fender flares that would be brilliant

Nothing bolt on for as far as tube fenders.

These guys found a way to blend plate steel into the cage

For the doors, could go with tube doors.

And for your nerf bars, they dont provide much protection. Might want to look into a set of rock sliders.

I was hoping for one abit more like the one above. But not completely covering the quarter panel. Perhaps auctually looking allot like the fender flares

That's probably going to be custom fab. I've never seen anything on the market like what you're looking for.

Before you go too far on other parts, you might want to heed what Hyde suggested--those nerf bars aren't going to cut it if protection is what you really want. Find some genuine rock sliders, with multiple attachment points to the frame--what you have is more of a show bar.

I am looking for as much protection as possible. Those nerf bars in my opinion protrude enough, but i've not been able to find that quarter panel bar anywhere... perhaps it's custom. I really would like to out fit my 4runner with complete protection though.

On the nerf bars, it's not how far they protrude, it's how much weight and abuse can they handle. You drop onto those too often, and they'll be bending upward, or snap off altogether. Look at the bars from, say, AllProOffroad, and see how many support bars they have in the middle, plus the gussets on said bars at the frame. If you're serious about protection, that's the route to take (don't want to flop down on a rock and suddenly not be able to open your door because your nerf bar's in the way!).

To also throw in a little bit to the exp. guys above, you can also rhino/bed-line the quarter panels/undercarriage, etc. ... It will help a LOT with dings/dents/scratches etc. you're going to get from hitting & scrapping crap. I bed-lined my 4runner ('92) and it looks real nice too.

You know, you just gave me an idea I hadn't thought of before--I'll bet doing bedliner on the lower half of the body would look pretty good, as well as adding protection. Maybe do it from the body line down (2nd Gen)? It would look like a two-tone paint scheme at first, and would blend with my flares. As Elmer Fudd would say, "vewwy intewesting!".

Well let me ask you this then....why do you need protection? How often are you hitting your bumpers/bars on stuff? And whats your rear bumper look like?

I've seen it done on several first gens. I'm not a fan.

I'm about ready to do something fairly similar to my second gen, but not quite as much I don't think. I'm planning to just put it above the wheel wells and rocker panels/slight lower portion of body and doors. My rig is black and the bedliner I have is as well. While it won't be an exact color match, it also wont look like an obscure combo.

Regarding the topic...I'd say learn how to weld and create some protection of your own, customized to your liking. Not only will it be how you want it, but you'll also learn a valuable trade that will pay dividends for later projects....that or you can put the money toward ground effects, rims, a fart cannon muffler and make yourself a sweet, riced-out mall crawler. imp:

Check out my build thread. I am in the process of lining the inside floor of my runner along with the lower 1/4-1/3 of the body. Also, footofgod did lining on the lower 1/4 of his 2nd gen.
