fender flare

i have a 97 4runner limited. previous owner ripped the driver side fender flare off and it bent up the fender its self, so i went to phoenix to pick up a fender and the flare but i only got the fender panel. i have been looking around the internet trying to find just the flare but all the ones i have found have been very expensive. if any one has just the flare they are willing to sell or know some where with a good deal please fill me in

I can't help you but you could help me.

Could you take a picture of the plastic clips that connect the flare, provide a part number if you have it and any advice on removing the flares without breaking everything. I'd also love to see a picture of the fender without the flares so I know where the mounting holes are.

I have a '98 limited and I'd love to pull the flares off and have them repainted. The local guys here do decent work for literally painting under a tree but also tend to break/lose clips and just start screwing trim stuff down. Over spray can be an issue too.

see thats what i want to do as well i just need the flare for the driver side. now getting the flare off, i have yet to do this but i do know that there are bolts and a few clips that is in the fender well its self and then there are a few in the engine bay. when and if i find a fender which i hope is soon i will for surely takes some pics of every thing and im going to do my best to not brake any of the clips.

so i just pulled a clip off of a flare and added it to another flare where one broke off from a car wash....i broke a little bit if the clip off but i did reuse it and its holding great so far.....i used two flat head screw driver on the top and the bottom of the clip...i just pitched it with both screw drivers and it came out .

no photo host is required guys... a simple photo will highly increase your odds of success... likely have to be a junkyard find...Manage attachments at bottom of the posting... then Browse then Upload. I can do it so I bet you can too. I hated using *&^% photobucket but it's no longer needed.

I was able to find a nice Canadian member a Sport rear door flare and it was not cheap. Limiteds a bit easier to find...but show us what you need....

when CSL aka 5runner at RM4wd took his off and sent them to LINY4runner, he had tons of little holes in his fender,

My 02 sport definitely does, and I am also under the same impression that the limiteds are the same

I would also like to know where I could go and get a set. I got mine ripped off a couple years ago when I slid on some clay into the side of my friends truck, then when I got pulled back away from his truck it ripped the trim right off. It left a couple connectors but most were completely broken. I haven't really cared but it would be nice to know if I could fix it relatively cheap.

I just took all the fender flares off my 99 limited 4runner and had them painted. I went ahead an painted the whole truck while I had the flares off. Do your research on taking them off because I broke a few pieces on one side but the other side I saw what needed to b done. I have been lookin for one flare to b replaced but r very hard to find. I finally went to a junk yard and that had a lot of them. I payed $25 for the front driver side piece
