fender solutions post pinch weld pounding

I'm about to start pounding the pinch welds and was hoping for a few tips/pics regarding closing things up. I've got a few ideas that basically mean attaching a thin plastic piece to the fender liner.

I'm also wondering about the limited flares. It appears that I may be getting some rubbing on the lowest and innermost flare attachment point (regardless of pinch weld). I've already replaced the factory screws with a low profile combo of screws and washers. Can I reasonably cut this section off without causing an issue with holding the flares in place? Anyone else done that?

Also did some trimming on the front bumper, but I might need to do a little more. The pinch weld area is my current focus.

For what it's worth, I'm running 285/70/17 on 17/x rims with 4.1 inches of backspacing.

Any help/advice/pics are appreciated!

Thanks much,

I'm actually working on this now, I cut the lower mount off the limited flair, and it doesnt seem like it will be a problem. Im wishing now I'd have cut the pinch weld a bit, then pounded, but I don't know if this is Ok.

Now It is tough to get the weld to move the next quarter inch I need, and if I try to cut it I might cut into the passenger compartment. hmmmm
