I like them so far.... had the same brand on my Impala too.... seem to work great. Ceramics seem nice too..... pretty quiet! :)
 
Im new to this site but have been reading your build and have been admiring your truck. I have a 96 and want to lift it and do not have a whole lot of money. And it looks like this is the best way to save money. Was there a noticeable difference in height when you installed the Tundra struts and L/C coils. And there looks like there is a little rake to the front of the vehicle. Its not too much rake is it? Where any mods that needed to happen to bolt everything up? Or was it just plug and play, just all swapped out universally. Next is whats size tires are you running with that lift and how does everything ride now that you have had it awhile? Sorry for the 20 questions.
 
Windshield repair

Well.... it's been a rough month. Lost my job at the beginning of this month, came down with intestinal issues, skin abscess, and a chest infection, and then, on my way home from a job interview... I got a nice rock chip on my windshield from a Tractor Trailer truck!! :(

Since I'm low on funds, and in order to avoid a costly windshield repair, I decided to try one of those do - it - yourself kits, and seal the chip.

Pics don't do it justice... but the spider effect has been reduced, and looks alot better than before! Time will tell if it saves my windshield.... but for $10.00.... I had to try! :)
 
Cool build man, regarding your rock chip repair, I have had pretty good luck using the same type of product in the past. For the money, you really can't beat it, I can look past a small ship or crack but i cant stand when it spiders all out to the edges. Here's to hoping June goes better for you!:cheers:

Looking good man! I know your fighting all that rust from all those Canadian winters man. But that thing looks good! Keep it up, it never ends.
 
Thanks boys.... again... the after pic doesn't do it justice. You can barely see the chip now.. :)

As for the job front.... I've had 2 interviews this week, and at least one of them looks rather promising. I'm hoping to hear back from that one sometime next week.

As for the rust.... she's been holding up pretty good... She's my baby... always will be! ;) And 60 pages goes with the Territory.... I've been on this site a while.... lol!
 
Thanks man.... feeling a lot better lately! Finally kicked those infections, and back into my workout program.

As for the job hunt, I've managed to get some work with a Contract Security Company. The pay is ok, but I haven't worked a single shift yet, as they've had me in training for the past few weeks. I've had some set backs with applying for some of the better paying jobs in my field.... so may just look into a career change. Only so long I can work as a "bacon bit"! lol!

I've looked into, and am in the preliminary stages of my application with the Volunteer Fire Service in my town. I'm hoping to soak up as much training with them, and then maybe move on to being a Career Firefighter. Another option, is working for the railroad.... I've got an uncle who is a big boss there, and I might be able to score a job through him. (not sure if I want to do that though...).

As far as the 4Runner goes....

Not really planning too many more mods on the 4Runner. Basically, have a rear axle seal to do, and she'll be up to par again.

My main focus for mods, is my new to me, Speedway Blue, 05 Tacoma DC LB Sport. Already started some easy, cosmetic stuff, but saving to do a lift and some bigger tires.

The 4Runner is my baby, always will be. However, I've pretty much reached what I wanted to do with it. Aside from a Sport Edition Scooped Hood, there's not much else I want to do, with this old gal. I drive it daily, love it, take care of it.... and hope to keep it for at least another 9 years! :D

Well, my baby is getting some well deserved lovin..... booked an appointment to have the bearing and seal done at a local machine shop! :) Should be done on Friday! :)

Glad to see you're still checking in. I always like seeing some fresh shots of "Mean Green".

Those pics you posted of the get together at your Dad's place were very cool. Looked like some fun times with friends and family, and DANG, I wish I had a swimming hole like that when I was a kid. We had to swim in the muddy Rio Grande. You've got a great looking family, you'd better take good care of 'em.

I'm bringing Mean Green into the shop tomorrow, to finally get that wheel bearing and seal done. I wasn't going to pay them to do it all, and do like you, and just bring them the axle. However, after talking to them, they told me it would cost anywhere from $75.00 - $150.00 just to press it off, and put the new stuff on. WHen I inquired about the cost to just drop it off to them.... they told me $175.00, so long as they don't have to replace the axle shaft. If they do, then a new shaft will be an additional $325.00 (cheapest we can get in town!).

I can't really afford the repair.... but been driving it like this since May... so gotta bite the bullet, and put it on the old credit card. :/ It will be nice to get my rear brakes back to par! :D

Got my Driver side, rear axle seal, and other associated parts, replaced today. Total cost.... approx. $410.00 of parts and labor. Replaced the inner seal, bearing, 2 retainer collars, snap ring, o-ring, ABS exciter ring, and the outer dust boot. Labor was $250.00 out the door.... and they even resurfaced my brake shoes. I'm gonna check on them in a week, and see if diff fluid is coming out of the shoes... if not... I have some in my parts cabinet in the garage, I can throw on there. :D

Celebrated the long awaited repair, by taking my girls to Dairy Queen for some Ice cream sundays... :D



 
Nice pics. Everyone looks happy. DQ usually brings nothing but smiles.

I think those bicycle riding punks in the background are eying Mean Green though.
