how you feeling man, hanging in there i hope, just been catching up in the last couple of pages and wow, not such a happy ending to 2015... i remember back when i first joined here and you were relaying some of your health issues, sucks that its come back, why cant this sorta shit happen to people like kanye west, not the good people of the world... hang in there :cheers:

Thanks for checking in man! I since underwent another surgery on November 25th, and now doing much better.... been recovering well, and I started training to rehabilitate myself in January. I also started my own Youtube Channel, geared towards fitness and medical issues. I hope to bring awareness to others with medical issues, who think that being fit is not possible, that it is possible!

man i just cut a big hole in my favorite jeans today... i was so pissed, had them for like 8 years and im grumpy now, i dont want new ones they never fit
 
Love the truck man it's looking great. And yeah getting staples removed sucks! I had a bunch of them in my leg after I wrecked my go-cart and snapped my left femur in half at age 12. A few surgeries, 8 months of crutches, and lots of staples!

I am glad you like the videos, takes a while to make them, using the Youtube Editing program.. lol!

I'm still working for CN Rail, going on 3 years now. The pay is always good, but I still hate being away from my family all week. Been thinking of looking for another job, but in a town with under 6000 people, and my credentials, it's been a challenge. Not to mention, at the young age of 35.... deciding to just up and leave a good paying job with pension and benefits, is rather daunting.

I have a lot of things to think about, but hoping to figure that out soon. ;)

Best i could manage was about 4 years for a pair of jeans... good deal...





Fightie: Best of luck with the health issues..... I know those staples were itchy... seems like you have a good support team! Good on ya..

Thanks man.... I'm a very lucky man. My wife of 10 years has been helping me through all 7 of my bowel surgeries. She's patched me up, more times that I care to remember. She's been a God send...

You are what really inspired me when I found this website with all you can do to a 4runner. I just wanted to thank you for the inspiration you've given me. It's good to see that you're recovering well too!!
 
Fightman, I'm really glad to hear you've made some improvement with the recent surgery man. You are a conqueror and I hope you continue to improve. I've had my share of gastro issues. Had colonoscopies, upper endo, barium x rays, ct scans, mri, etc.. Stuff you've probably done a thousand times over. But for me they said I have no signs of ibd. My chronic pain remains a mystery. I certainly haven't been through anything like what you've been through. But I do know how terrible chronic severe gastro pain and digestive issues are. People who have never experienced it don't have a clue. It's the worst kind of pain. I've had bone cut out of my shoulder and was forced to start physical therapy the next day, and that pain was cake compared to the gut pain I've experienced. So I really feel for you.

And that's a great nurse you have there. When things get really bad and "in sickness and in health" is really put to the test, so many spouses call it quits. You've got a good one and beautiful kids there. Keep on fighting man! I'll check out your YouTube channel
 
Thanks guys.... doing really well right now. Working like a mofo... but that's all good. Going to be taking holidays in a little less than a month from now. :)
 
Nothing new to see here... ;)

Hey guys... I haven't been very active on the site for quite a while... but I still love my 98 4Runner!

This week, I decided to do a complete wash / wax and detail on my old girl... and she still shines up rather nice! :)















She's 18yrs young... and is starting to show her age... (My clear coat on the hood and roof are starting to burn through, and the rear hatch has a spot that needs some attention). That being said... I still love my old girl... don't see myself selling this thing any time soon! :)
 
So, I haven't been very active on this site in a long time, mostly because I've come to a point with the truck, where I'm truly happy with what I've done to it. Today, I decided to replace my failed reverse lights, and refresh the wiring for it.

I liked my old lights, but they'd had better days. Corroded, and dingy looking, I needed to replace them. Luckily for me... I found the same set at my local Canadian Tire on a clearance sale for $15.00! They aren't Rigid LED's.... but they are plenty bright, and look pretty clean as well.

Good to see you're still around. Even if it's sparse. I feel you. I'm pretty much in the same boat as you.

Thanks for checking in man! I haven't finished the house... spent the better part of the last year recovering from surgeries, and dealing with health issues. When I got back on my feet, I started working on the place. We started with framing and insulating my basement, drywalled and painted my second and main floor, installed a ton of flooring, and tiled our shower.

My most recent project involved covering all my stairs and building railings for them. Took us 2 weeks to complete, using an indigenous wood from here, called Tamarack. It's got a similar look as Oak, but is a needled tree.

We started out with plywood stairs with 2x4 railings....

When I'm not building my house... I'm rebuilding myself.. ;)



Oh yeah... since this is my build thread... here's a couple of pics of the runner too! I took the family out to a local waterpark today, and got a couple of random people come and tell me that my 4Runner looked really good! ;)

Your 4runner looks really good man! I've looked through your build thread before and not sure if I ever left a comment but I like how you've been able to preserve the "stock" look.

Thanks! That was my goal with this truck... I wanted to build it up, so it had an "OEM Plus" feel to it. Basically, build it the way I thought Toyota should have built it...

I did the same thing with my 05 Taco...
