Fightman's Build Thread

Great job on the valence.

Front end came out very clean. A big improvement.

You must have a lot of self control to ride around on those little tires all winter. It's night and day switching back to the bighorns.

Finally, I think it's cool how your kid is always out hanging with you in the garage. Get her turning some wrenches and pull the jeep body off the big wheel (power wheels? the little mini car she's got in that one pic) and throw a 4-Runner body on there and she'll be all set!

Thanks for the compliments man! I find it really tough to look at the rig with those 245's on in the winter....but It's the best way to keep my alloys in good shape, and away from all the road salt. I've been thinking of unloading them, and then buying some bigger rubber for the winter, but I wouldn't get much for them, and can't justify losing out on that kind of money. Most of the guys in my area that wheel, run Jeeps, and most of them have 15" wheels.

As for the kid, she loves spending time in the garage with me! Whether it's turning wrenches, or working out, she loves it....BTW, I was thinking the same thing about the Mini-Jeep....the in-laws bought her that for her Birthday this year....I think just to spite me! HA HA!

looks pretty clean to me. How did u ride on those little tires all winter???? anyways...funny you said it was getting to be spring time so u put on the m/t's ..but then i see snow everywhere in all those pics.

Damn your rig is looking real good fightman! It's amazing how those Bighorns, Procomps, and some wheel polish really make it stand out. I like the aux. lights too...it must have taken a lot of patience to get it perfect.

Thanks for the Compliments guys! BTW, this is the begining of spring! HA HA HA! The roads are bare, even the dirt roads....so soon enough the weather will warm up more. My wife's Tulips are coming out of the ground....that's a good sign! HA HA! We got nailed hard with snow this winter, even after all the thaw we've had, the bank in my back driveway is still 3.5' tall! I can't wait till it's all gone, and the warmer weather comes....I got some paint work to do, that has to be done outside!

Here's a pic of one bank in front of my garage...I used the snow blower to put it there....but the top of it reaches the bottom of the roof line!

Got a K&N filter for FREE today!

The same guy I got my LC coils from, has a 2000 Taco that he removed the filter from, and just wanted to get rid of it!

It's gonna need some cleaning, but that's a sweet deal!

I've got a set of lock nuts coming....had them ordered, but the wrong size came in....I'm thinking of getting a cable and lock too....but won't the lock nuts be good enough??

every cat theft i know (dont ask me how i know them) got a box of keys in the pack no matter what u have one they have the key for it just letting u know

Thanks for the info man! I'll have to think about it...just a thought, do you really think that these guys are that organized?? Hell, I can see them trying to force a small socket on with a hammer, or cutting the lugs off, but going out to buy a set of keys for the lugs?? If so....that's crazy! HA HA HA!

Either way, I may just take my chances. I don't live in a ghetto or anything like that, and these days, the rig stays parked in the garage anyway! HA HA!

yeah i live in oakland california back then, man was that bad, but i live in a much better town now so so far nothing got stolen from the rig yet(knock on wood). funny thing is the car theft i know, he put him self through college stealing high end cars(never steal cars from poor working people he told me) and now hes a big lawyer that works for the city lol

Alright, so I wasn't really digging the center tube sticking out of the center of my wheel. It looks alright with a black wheel, but with the Procomp wheel, it stuck out like a sore thumb.

Before:

I decided to mark off where I wanted to cut the tube:

Then took my cut-off wheel and chopped it off!

Here's a pic of my little helper again!

Thanks guys! I'm happy with it! I'm gonna have to find something to cap the end of the tube under the hub cap though, as come winter, water and ice will get in.....probably just re-use the old piece, just cut it down again.

So, I made a deal with Bandit Runner yesterday for his old Sport Edition Skid plate and paid him using Paypal!

Some may think those skid plates are tacky, but I like the look of them. As much as a real Skid plate is cool looking, I don't plan to be running my truck over tons of bolders anymore. (Too costly to fix booboo's) And I don't want to run the extra weight up front, just for the "cool" factor. Sure the budbuilts are functional, but I wouldn't be using them for what they are intended for, and therefore, would mainly be there for the cool factor!

The plate is apparently missing the mounts, but I'll try to make some up. It has also been painted black, but I'm going to sand that all off, and give it a good polishing! I will then most likely try to make some mounts and run the D-Ring Shackles like COB suggested! Bandit Runner is supposed to be shipping the skid plate today, so hoping to see it within the next week or so??

After that.....who knows! Maybe some L.E.D's for the back.....but probably won't be til at least June, most likely October...(my birthday).

haha yea he got the center cap for the rims! it does make a difference. now the back looks good. i know what you are missing tho...ur missing a spoiler. LETS GET ON THAT. the spoiler will complete it for now
