Finally! 2019 TRDORP

Truck looks great!! I hope I don't get the mod bug hanging out here....however, eliminating the nose dive and body lean would be nice....

That's awesome! And yeah finding a ORP without a sunroof and KDSS was hard, we went thru a broker so it was his job lol but it took him a while. I have about 500 miles on the tires so far and have no complains. The guys were also able to balance them perfectly the first time, there are no vibrations or anything like that so I'm happy. So about the lights, I'm still not happy, even my wife told me she noticed there isn't much light at night. The retrofitsource currently has 20% off deal so the Retro-Quik kit comes down to 352 from 440, I might just go ahead and pull the trigger and see what happens. Again like I said before I'm really happy with the DDM Tuning Saber kit I installed for the drl/high beams. Honestly the drl are almost as bright as the LED lows. For the fog lights I was thinking something like the ridgid leds or something else similar.

Thank you! I honestly haven't invested too much into it yet. The wheels/tires would come up to about $300 after I sell the old ones, and the other spending is just the low/high beam update. Well and the black overlays which were freaking $90. BTW I found the best deal for 4 5100 shocks on ebay for about $353 and I think 4 Dobinsons springs are even less. I would do the install myself so I think for the money its totally worth it.

Great looking 4r!

Thank you sir!

Congratulations. I think you scored on those black Friday deals. Things are looking good on your 4R.

Looking good

Thank you sir!

Beautiful white on black. Benefits and cons to KDSS?

Thank you! I think biggest benefits of KDSS is the car like feel when driving at higher speeds, as in not so much body roll, and almost no nose dive when breaking. I wouldn't have mind having it, the problem was that most dealers would order KDSS together with sunroof and that package was something like $1800 additional. I figured for that much I can get a pretty good suspension setup and probably get armor for the whole vehicle which to me sounded like a better deal. And honestly when coming back from Winter Park before Denver I70 has miles of like 6% grade downhill with some long turns and I'd go 70-80mph and not feel that much body roll. The only thing that's clearly noticeable is the nose dive, but I'll get rid of that.

Congratulations. I think you scored on those black Friday deals. Things are looking good on your 4R.

Thank you! I'd like to think so too, I'm looking around for some other good deals. I saw a basket that had a pretty good discount on Amazon so I might give that a shot and see how I like it. And since I'm on that topic, have any of you guys tried the ROLA rooftop basket? Currently selling for $146.60 I'm thinking of giving it a shot, I mean for that much money even if its not that great its not a huge loss. Plus most of the reviews seem like they like it.

Congrats on your ride man!

Thank you sir!

You might look into Supernova V4's for the low beams, I think they're sold by Headlight Revolution? They should fit behind the dust caps and they look to be among the brightest of drop-in LED bulbs...

Looks good so far!
Ever think about painting the mesh grill and front/rear valance's gun metal grey to match your wheels? I own TRD wheels in both black and grey and considered going the TRD PRO look but with gunmetal accents rather than black. I have a Tacoma as well that can use the black wheels if I don't use them on the runner.

Actually what I decided is to go with a 6500k 55w HID kit from DDM tuning. I've used that kit before on another vehicle and was really happy. Or I might do 5500k instead, we'll see. I really like the color of the 6500k but I know 55 looks more OEM.

Thank you! I never thought about gray but its not a bad idea. Without the mesh grill though, I think that will look weird. Something I thought about was doing a plain garnish and getting a FJ Cruiser TOYOTA emblem and installing that on the smaller upper mesh grill, just to make it a little different. What year is your Taco? I have one as well, 2012 Access cab, love that thing. But its a PreRunner so no wheeling fun with that.

By mesh I meant the black plastic that would remain if everything else was gunmetal in the TRD PRO design. Maybe it would look weird I don't know.

My Taco is a 2010 DC TRDOR and I love it. Toyota replaced the frame due to a small rust through spot. So I took the opportunity to hand them new parts to install while reassembling. Bilstein 6112's up front 5160's out back with new leaf packs and stainless MagnaFlow exhaust manifolds. The rest was cosmetic - new headlights, new wheels/tires. The best part was I didn't really have to pay for any installation aside from $200 dollars for work performed installing the front shocks and the exhaust manifolds that was considered extra work. It's like a brand new truck now lol. The 6112's ride so nice on my taco that I'm thinking about putting them on the 4runner.

Dude that’s awesome! My truck was Texas one owner with 65k miles and it literally looked like brand new everywhere. I’m guessing the owner moved here and someone scared him that he needs 4x4 for CO and he traded it at a Subaru dealership. I was looking at that Bilstein shock combo but figured out that I can have 4 5100 shocks for about $300 for I’d probably go with those paired with some Dobinson springs.

Alright here’s a little update from today. I got 10 LED bulbs for like $14 off Amazon and they came in today. I swear best money spent lol. What a difference, I’d recommend that upgrade to everyone!

oem bulb and led

Drivers side done, note on this picture how you almost can’t see the seats shade

now check out the passenger side with oem bulb, super dull, seats shade can be seen clearly because of the dome light inside.

Both LED, this is from just the two front lights, I haven’t changed the dome light over the back seats yet.

Looks good!

Thank you!

Question for you guys. If you had to choose between TRD Pro Bilstein suspension with about 20k miles on it and brand new 5100 shocks combined with brand new Dobinsons springs what would you go with? I like the TRD because of the better shocks but its 20k miles vs. brand new for pretty much the same price, I cant make up my mind.

Thank you guys!

Here’s a quick update. I was able to participate in the Chinese special TRD Pro garnish and finally got it today. First impression was wow, it’s nice! The packaging to begin with was really good, the product looks OEM quality to me. Anyway I took the front and rear gray plastic valances down and am dropping off everything for paint tomorrow.

Here’s some pictures

I know you already updated your map lights to LED with bulbs but here is a good option for all your interior lighting. A little pricey but worth it if you're needing it.

ArcLightLEDs

Awesome 4Runner btw. I'm been wanting to trade in our '14 TEP for a while now lol. Waiting to see what they do with the redesign next year, or whenever it is

Also hoping they finally update the tech on these things to be on par with the Tacoma.
