Finally a picture...

Figured everyone has been helping me out with my 4Runner, figured I should post a picture. I just had some new Yokohama tires put on. I've also had new sunscreen put on since the picture and it looks much nicer. We see temp's in the 110+ area here, so you gotta have good sunscreen.

Few things I still need to fix.

The antenna leans forward because it is loose, but the panel I need to remove has had some nuts striped so they placed these little plastic plugs in there that must be cut out to remove, so I need to find new ones to replace them with before I cut them.

The drivers headrest will not go down any further, it has this chrome stop that I can't push up or down, not sure what to do with this thing. One of the back seat headrest has this also.

It needs a good vacuuming on the inside and maybe new mats.

Would like to get some good sheepskin covers for the front seats. We have dogs and the loose dog hair tends to get woven into our seats, so I would prefer to have that happen to the seat covers that we can throw away in due time. Anyone know of a good place to get some?

Need a nice "wood" shift knob for both the 5spd stick and 4wd. I've looked around with no avail, so I will probably make my own. The 5spd shift knob is all wore out and since it is leather, Toyota wants $120 for a new one... I don't think so.

It's green. Yea, I have to tell you, even if I could afford a new one, I would still do an older one just because I like the body design better. Nothing against the people who have new ones, but I just happen to like the design better.

I've waited 4 years to finally be able to lay out cash for one and I'm pretty excited. I spend way to much time cleaning it and such... my Wife said she expects to find her weding ring around the gear shift.... Hey! It doesn't ask me to take out the trash! he he.

2. 20% front window tint, 5% back pass and back window tints
3. hella 500 lights mounted (dashboard switch mounted)
4. clear hella light covers
5. sanded a rusted tow hitch, primed it and painted it (today actually)
6. t4r.org sticker, funny decals and the national flag of my country. pride overcomes all.
7. sunroof wind deflector

And here I am, still with a little cash left over and happy as a clam. (whats that saying about? are clams really happy? would we know it anyways?)

Nice truck. It looks like it is in very good shape. Where are you from that the temps get up to 110? It gets up to 100 here in NJ and I am melting!!!

94yotarunner - Wow, amazing work! I would love to know where you got some of the parts you installed, I'm having a hard time hunting down cool add-on's for this year of 4Runner. I did a Alpine also, but did the 9827 so it will play MP3's. I also did new 4" Infinity speakers all the way around and a Infinity BassLink subwoofer with twin 10" subs. I also did a keyless entry/alarm, which is currently set way to sensitive.

Mark86: Arizona, we hit 110 today and we get temp's in the teen's and I even lived a day here where we hit 123... ouch, but I got a cool T-Shirt that says I survived the 123 temp LOL. Everyone always says "Yea, but it's a dry heat". Don't let them fool you, once it gets over 110, it's freakin HOT, no matter what the humidity is.

That is what I thought too. How bad can it be? There's not humidity. Here in NJ when it hits 100, it is a damp 100.

True -- your oven has a dry heat, too.

On a flight a couple of months ago, I met one of your US House members from Arizona -- he said "it's better to bake than it is to boil." (He is from North Carolina originally, so he's familiar with both humid and dry heat, so he had some credibility.)

I don't have the confidence to do any of the work myself. My knowledge on mechanics is strictly theoretical and not practical. I do know that I got the parts for all of this straight from a 4x4 shop in Houston or from Toyota and a trusted mechanic did the work for me. You seem like you're doing it my yourself and thats awesome.

I tried to do something as simple as changing my spark plug wires. Easy enough right? I accidently rested a tie that held the three that cross the engine on something (EGR valve I think) and they melted. I lost two cylinders and paid 150 in repairs and having the mechanic change the wires. Not only was that hard on my wallet but my pride.

Ohh yeah, btw, did you put 4 inchers in the back because you wanted equal sound or was that all you could do? Cause I had stock amps and boxes for my back speakers. (you might have as well). I decided to mod them to fit bigger speakers because 4 inch speakers wouldn't do it for me. I ended up fitting 6 1/2 inchers, took out the stock amp and I fit tweakers above the rear window.
Took a while to cut the box though because I started with a small manual saw. (lol) About a half later I decided to just go out and get myself an electrical saw and I finished ten minutes later.

Thanks for the info, yes I registered at YotaTech.

I wanted 6x9's in the back, but the installer refused and after they were done I "really" regreted not doing it myself, even though they gave me a deal and basically installation was free. I've always did it myself and regret having them do it. I stress out the 4" already and wish they were bigger.

After hearing your comments, I might yank the backs out and look at the situation better and see if I want to return the back speakers and go with something better.
