WOW what a fiasco!

About 6 months ago my wife had a HUGE whitetail deer buck run out in front of her 04 CR-V. She hit it head on. It totaled the CR-V and also broke her leg.

Once the CR-V was totaled out and we got a check from insurance, we went out looking at newer vehicles and simply couldn't decide on a ride. Mainly because anything my wife really liked was in the $500.00 a month range and I think it's insane to pay that kind of money per month for ANY car. Not to mention we have been car payment free for years and didn't want to go back to a payment.

So we came up with a game plan. I gave her my 02 4 Runner Sport, and I bought a 95 Ford Bronco to daily drive back and forth to work. I only live 8-9 miles from work and it seemed OK to rock an older Bronco back and forth to work since I have a restored Musclecar in the garage.

Well that didn't last long. The Bronco was a decent truck but it drank gas and was just overall a big vehicle. My wife didn't like driving it and it was really supposed to be a temporary ride until we decided what to do for a long term ride, so we decided we might have to take on a payment after all. So I listed the Bronco on eBay and we began shopping cars again.

Luckily, my mom called one day and said a friend of hers was selling a clean low mileage Subaru and asked if we were interested. So to be polite I called the woman and spoke to her husband. Turns out that the car is an 02 WRX wagon with the turbo 4 cyl and an automatic trans (my wife can't drive a stick....pathetic). The car only has 57,000 original miles as it was his wife's car and she's retired. She bought it brand new and loved the pick up of the turbo 4. My wife took it for a nice test drive and was sold. We scored the WRX for my wife and I got my 4 Runner back.

I couldn't be happier!
