Finally completed...full audio install w/ DDX712 DVD Head Unit Pics!!!

So I finally got everything picked out, got it professionally installed yesterday and after the fact I have an amazing sounding crystal clear stereo that has the ability to shake my innards like no other!

Lookin good. Was glad to see you had pics posted. Been so busy this week I haven't even turned my computer on. Did they mount the amp in the rear panel? That box looks huge compared to mine. Must sound pretty good though. Do you get much rattle?

Ok, so I just read the rest of the last thread and seen the pics of all the stuff. Nice.
And you gotta love those initial headaches and sore ears.
As far as the hum goes I would ask the installers about it, especially if they have to get back into it. Sometimes it can be hard as hell to get rid of though and takes a lot of time to track down the problem.

I diagnosed it myself. The hum is actually the fan on the headunit. That is why it is only audible when there is no sound on. The speakers are crystal clear with no indication of static/hum/interference.

I can deal with the hum because you can only really hear it if the entire car is silent.....Im still waiting on that dash kit so maybe that will alleviate some of it.

Surprisingly there arent many rattles...the side view mirrors/rear view mirror are unusable due to vibration at loud volumes.

Nothing sounds "rattly"...maybe it will loosen over time idk but next summer's project is dynamat for sure.

I just wish my amp had a remote bass knob. It''s a PITA to have to go to the HU audio control to lower the level.

BTW, the gain on the sub amp is all the way up...is that alright?

Bigg/Clemson...do you find at loud volumes the subs overpower the music almost to the point of not being able to hear it?

Oh yea, the 4 channel is mounted underneath the passenger seat...its just screwed to the floor...is that bad?

The sub amp is mounted on the lower half of the back seat to be out of sight from potential crooks.

I wanted everything hidden because my school is not in the best location. South Bethlehem PA LOL!

Yeah man. The amps are ok I think.

The gain shouldn't be a problem. As long as the subs are not getting a clipped signal or distorting you are fine.

I haven't noticed the problem with the bass being too loud. I have only turned my radio past half way two times though. Maybe if I turned it louder they would, but I'm not sure. It's kinda weird though because I still have my stock speakers or at least I think they are stock.

Some videos of the subs, flex (if any), and HU would be cool.

You need the 95-8202 dash kit to cover up those spaces on the sides of your deck. Otherwise, it looks like it sounds great.

Ok, so now that you've had it for a few days have you noticed any rattles and stuff that you didn't hear at first? I know that I always hear more after I've had a chance to play with it for a little while than I did when I first installed it.
Are your ears still sore?

No there are not any rattles at all except for the rear license plate and windshield wiper.

My ears have adjusted just fine and was actually thinking of getting another 800W amp (one for each sub) at some point...dont know if I'd need to upgrade electrical components though.

Anyway, I love it!

I typically find myself listening to music at near max volume...dont know if thats good or bad!

seems like a bullet proof amp and the room for expansion in the future @ 1ohm is unparalleled!

I just wasnt getting the bass response I was looking for I guess :/

Anyway, my box will now be the weak point. Next summer, I will have a custom one made.

Is there a reason you chose those specific speakers?

Were they a perfect fit into the stock location?

How bout some pix of where you mounted your amps?

Would 6x9's fit any of the stock locations or would you have to modify?

I like the JL brand, especially their subs, they slam.

Looks great. Your box does look huge, I dont know if my wife would have that.

It is a shame because I have all the components I need (Head unit, 4 amps, 2-12" sub box, 13 band EQ) actually I would need to buy the speakers, but I have everything else. I haven't installed because I dont know where to mount my amps. I dont want to lose my folding seat cargo room. If I were to put in my sub box, there goes my cargo room. I would have to load and unload my subs everytime. And what about the connections after I remove the box.....

I currently have the JBL 10 speaker surround sound and to say the least I am not impressed. My last truck (single cab dodge ram) was a head turner and a ground shaker to say the least. I really want to ditch my current system, but not sure if it is worth losing all my cargo room.

I miss the boom shake shake.

No the speakers required modification....I had it professionally installed so I have no idea what they did. They used the stock front speaker mounting brackets that's all I know.

It sounds awesome....now its going to absolutely slam!
