Hello all - Well I finally picked up my 05 Limited V8 on Friday. She is a beauty! I love this car. Now I NEED XM Radio!! Is there anyway to integrate XM through my factory NAV unit? I was checking out the scion forums and I see its available on the Scion HU.. The HU in my 4runner looks the same except the AM button is only AM.. Not AM/Sat.. I really want this to look stock and would like to control everything through the steering wheel and HU.. Any help would be much appreciated!

Since he has a limited, doesn't that mean he has the JBL system? The Scion radio wouldn't be compatible, right?

This thread has some info. Sat radio can directly work with your nav unit. Toyota sells a kit. Looks like some other compaines do.

Thanks for everyones help. Bluto I did read that post before and the only thing that made me unsure was the HUs you see in the pics running XM are different HUs then what I am running. The AM button on my nav system just reads AM.. Not AM-Sat, so im not sure if this would work..

Also my dad and brother both have 04 4runners... Both the hardware and software (firmware) looks different on the Nav systems. Also instead of having 2 (3"?) speakers in the back by the sub I have mirrors in my 05 that reflect the blindspots of the truck.. No speakers like in the 04.. I rather have the speakers..

I will call toyota today and see if the kit will work with the factory HU in the 05 4runner..

I just called 1-800-GO-TOYOTA and the rep told me at the current time that the Nav HU in the 4runner will NOT support XM radio and the kit they sell will not work in the 4runner.. Is he just blowing smoke? I have had the truck for about 2 weeks and have put about 500 miles on it. All without XM radio!! I am losing my mind!!! I seriously dont want to break down and go with an afterstock unit, but I dont think I have a choice.. I may just go with the commander and mount it in my sunglass case that drops down.. I dunno!!!! This stinks, why would Toyota offer it in some vehicles and not others?!? They stink!

I think they are a couple people on this board who've added XM to the factory NAV. The two companies I can think of that offer somthing that could work are www.coataletech.com and www.vaistech.com. I can't remember the peron that used coataletech but if you do a search for that it should come up. Both work through the AM button on the NAV and offer Sat1,2, and 3 funtions.

There was a recent short thread about this. It linked <a href="http://www.vaistech.com./aic100x.html" target="_blank">this</a> <br /> site. Appears to be just what you're looking for.

I just poke with Gene from Vaistech. He stated the product was tested and it works perfectly with a 2005 4runner nav system. It should hopefully be available within the next month. Its gonna be a long month!

I really don't need the dual input or additional video. I currently have the back-up camera as part of the navigation system.

AIC-100x will work with your car, now it works for Lexus only but it will support Toyota on about 4-6 weeks. Please watch our website for updates, and release dates.
