Finally got it installed...

Well, after much research and much trying, I finally got my Parrot CK3100 kit installed. It works really well. The shop used a relay system to turn off the nav unit when a call comes in, and the sound is transferred to two small speakers they installed in my dash. They could not get the factory speakers to work with it.

The only problem is that it cuts all power to the nav, so even the gps is shut down. That causes a lag on the nav system when it repowers to get the correct position again. I am going to talk to the installers and see what they can do. I may just forget about the relay and just manually power it down. They sound is MUCH, MUCH clearer than anything I have used.

I will post pics today...

Why did they do the relay thing....Tell me one thing and I can make your life much easier. Does the parrot have a mute wire? Most do.

Tap into F7 off the harness with the mute wire (yellow on mine) from the bluetooth kit.(I got a post somewhere if you do a search)

Walla...when a call come in it will mute the stereo.

I have the moto kit and I set it to auto answer. I don't have to touch anything. Kit rings, the radio mutes, I say hello. When they hang up the call disconnects and back to the music.

No way that I know of now to use the car speakers for the audio but in my case my kit is plenty loud.

Hope this helps.

I did a little research

Parrot CK 3100 Bluetooth Voice Recognition Hands-Free Car Kit

Radio mute during calls, use of the car audio system for the highest quality of sound**

So we know it has a mute wire

** Sold separately. Without an adapter additional labor may be required or a separate speaker(s) may have to be used. Adapters for some car models are not available.

Did you see if the adapter was available for the Runner. This would make the audio work. But the mute should work without the adapter.

So, tap into the F7 port on the wire harness...Do you have a pic of that port so I know where to look? The adapte only works on non-amplified stereos. Doesn't work with the JBL system. I am going to drop it off again today to have them look at it. If you could get me a pic of that port on the harness I can show it to them. Thanks.

Dude, you are the s h i t....I got it rewired today and now the mute wire works perfectly and I have the two speakers and my center channel hooked up to relay the sound. Nice.....Pics to come later today.

Parrot CK3100 and Car Speakers

I just had a CK3100 installed in my new Toyota 2006 4Runner. It paired with my Blackberry just fine. I am able to make calls out and receive calls.

Problem is with the sound quality. I don't know if this is the best it can do or if there is an installation problem. I had it installed professionally via the Dealer.

1. How do I mute the sound of the radio? The sound gets softer when a call gets in but does not get turned off. Is the radio supposed to go off?

2. How do I make a call without the radio playing anything? I want to be able to talk with no background music?

3. The installer hooked the audio output to the left front speaker only? I am guessing they did a short cut without the ISO connector. I see another posting that it goes out to the front speakers and the center channel. What is needed to do this?

I just installed a Parrot CK3100 in my truck last night using an adapter from http://members.cox.net/quickconnect/ . I have an 06 4Runner Sport with the 6cd in dash. The adapter worked perfectly mating the ISO connectors that came with the kit to the ones on the back of the headunit.

The install was really easy using the instructions to pull apart the dash found here http://www.castulucci.com/projects/carpc/oemnaviaccess/ .

Took me less than 2 hours and saved $250 on the install. I am quite happy.

Now I have to get all the voice tags working with my Treo 650.

What port in the headunit did it install in? How does the unit function? Does it just mute or does it actually pause the playback from the radio? Do you have the JBL system? Any pics of the adapter and install?

Thanks....

I am thinking about getting Parrot CK3100 kit also. It would be nice to see how the connection will be on the back of stereo and writeups. With picutres would be big plus.
Oh, one question, I have an USA spec Apple ipod connector that is connected to back of a stereo. Will this interfere with a plug and play parrot harness kits?
Thanks
