Finally got my hands on a 3g4R

its been a long time coming, but I finally got my hands on a 3rd gen 4runner. Considering how crazy the market is on these things, I'd say a got a pretty good deal on my runner. Purchased for $9800.

-1997 Limited 4x4 w/ a functioning OEM rear locker
- 1 owner, CA owned
- no rust
- clean title / clean carfax and CA bar history
- 136k original miles
- no accidents
- body and paint in great condition, of course with some chips and scratches here and there (rear/left bumper sag and fading paint on the flare fenders), but not bad considering the age
- no major leaks (only a slight seep/leak on the halfmoons)
- everything functioning as it should (except antenna)
- tears on front leather seats (expected), but overall clean interior

I couldn't be any happier with the purchase. Can't wait to start building this rig!

If you have been doing some reading on here, replace your lbj if theres no paperwork of when it was changed.
And put in a new rad if the current one is brownish and has micro cracks.

Congrats... Welcome to the club. You build yours the way you want it. ;-)

I personally mostly leave them fairly stock but mostly I am just doing frame and body repairs due the rust in my environment. I wanted to save a few of the 3rd gens from the junk yards. ;-)

Very nice find. As others said, do get rid of the "damage multiplier" upfront.

If you don't want to scratch the paint going thru brush, cut it, haha.
