Finally! Got my tint, Toyo M/T's, and AR Mojaves installed on TE!

Ok, everyone... I know some have been bugging me about pics, pics, and more pics...

I JUST got the wheels/tires installed yesterday after dealing with Les Schwab for the past month... ughh- glad that's over!

I absolutely LOVE the way it looks now... even the custom smiley-face gear shift ball. Next will be some nerf bars or sliders- haven't decided yet what I want. Hubs took it to work today (he had to get a military decal for it) and all the guys over there were oohing and aahing over it! :thumb3: Yes, this is MY truck, not his.

I'm thinking about the same tires. How do you like them? they look very aggressive right? Are they quiet? Handle good?

I had issues last time I tried uploading pics so I gave up and just made them this size... I have them posted on my flickr page too (http://www.flickr.com/photos/travelbugs/), so if you go there you can click on the pics and get a bigger pic... don't look at my grass- it needs to be mowed!

I love the tires. They do have a very aggressive look. They are more aggressive than my husband's BFG KM2. It was a tossup btwn the KM2, **** Cepek and the Toyo's, but I just didn't like the DCs.

We've only had the tires on for a day. I haven't noticed much difference in the noise level, but my husband said they were noisier than his BFG KM2 on the highway when he drove it to work (16 miles)... however my truck is quieter than his diesel, so he probably noticed the tire noise more. The dude at Les Schwab told me that the Toyo's are going to last a lot longer than KM2, so we'll see... So far, they handle great- no wandering, smooth, etc.

The hubs got me that smiley ball online... it was in my FJ, but I took it out when I traded the FJ in for the 4runner.
He got it here: Koolknobs Custom Shifter Knobs | Home They make great quality stuff and can do just about anything you want (within reason)...

I think they gave you the wrong center caps is the deal. Those are the ones for 9 inch wheels is the reason they stick out farther. I had a set of AR Teflon Chambers in 17x9 and they came with those longer center caps. I don't use the ones that came with my Mojave's but they are shorter and have the X on them. I can find you some pics if you want.

All ready for your Moab trip now! You asked before about easier trails and I found another good one my last day there. 9 1/2 miles on your right past the Arches National park entrance on highway 191 north of Moab. It takes you in the back way to the Arches park and you come out right at Balance Rock. Easy fun 5 mile trail with a couple of little hills to play on!No lift needed.

I think they gave you the wrong center caps is the deal. Those are the ones for 9 inch wheels is the reason they stick out farther. I had a set of AR Teflon Chambers in 17x9 and they came with those longer center caps. I don't use the ones that came with my Mojave's but they are shorter and have the X on them. Les Schwab is on my sh!t list as it is- I nearly walked away from the whole deal b/c they kept jerking me around and didn't have their crap squared away. I can look online and see what I can find. Ya know, when I first saw the center caps, they didn't look right, but it had been a month since I ordered the wheels and they got around to getting them and all the necessary parts (it was supposed to be 1-2 weeks max).... grrrr!!!!

Yeah, we def want to do Moab, but we need to lift it! And you kinda scared me about taking my son and the dog... I don't want them to look like bobble heads in the back seat. :lmao:

for the reason harper7 stated, they are too long. my buddy has the mojaves on his taco and those caps were seriously way too long. once he scrapped them his wheel combo looked nice! good luck with getting the caps you want. love your tires btw, i think they gave birth to my nitto trail grapplers (toyo is parent company of nitto i believe)

I looked online at various vendors and it's so hard to tell from the pics, but I've found 2 different center caps for my wheels, and neither of them look like your's. You can't gauge too much how far they stick out from the online pics, but I think mine stick out way too much. Hubs says to just leave them alone, but now it bugs me more because I think LS screwed up (again!).

Do they have Les Schwab in SoCal? We've never had issues with them in the past (at different locations), but this certain store is well, just fill in the blank. :ybrick: I'm going to go talk to them tomorrow and see what they say. I'd prob have to wait another damn month for them to get the right caps in...
sorry to rant and I really hate to bash people/businesses publicly, but it just pisses me off when you drop this much cash at a place and they don't have their crap together from day 1.

How are the Toyo MT's for ride quality, noise and handling on the highway? I looked at the Toyo's but they're soooo freakin' heavy. I opted for the Cooper STT's also in 265/70R17 E-load range and they're 8.8 lbs lighter (per tire) than the Toyo MT's. My Coopers firmed up the ride (as expected) but they're pretty quiet and they improved handling/steering response (unexpected). I also had them siped for reasonable traction on slick roads (something you may want to consider for your Toyo MT's).

Oh .. I hope you also got a 5th Toyo MT to replace your spare. Your Toyo is a true 32" tire; it runs a good 3/8" larger diameter than the OEM tires.

Nope, your eyes are fine. They aren't true black, but like you said, a very dark gray... I'm not sure if that's because of the teflon coating or what.
