Finally got the Tundra brake upgrade going

I'm planning on doing this with my 98 T4R. With the parts that you posted in the original post, did you have any problems getting the parts on at all? Did you need to do any grinding or anything like that or was it basically just removing and replacing?

This upgrade has still got to be the best upgrade I've done to my 4runner (followed very closely by the new suspension), especially as I also tow a trailer from time to time. Must have in my opinion if you like to tow anything behind these 3rd Gens.

Yep. The shop said it was an easy trim the dust shield and bolt on install.

My 2000 Tundra came with the smaller 13WE calipers and I did the 13WL upgrade myself,I trimmed the dust shields without any problems...I forget if I used harborfreight tin snips or a cutoff wheel.

What are you guys using for the hard lines? On my Tundra I ordered new lines (told dealer they were for a 2005 model) in case the originals got seized and twisted,I plan on doing the same for my 4Runner but which ones should I order?

Glad u got them on.... ya i did mine and i was kinda nervous to do them and took about 2-3 hours for install since i was taking my time. Thats a good price u got for it all done and wat not.

2000-2002, maybe some of 2003.

Best upgrade IMHO for the 4runner. Then again, no S/C for moi.

definitely want to complete this one. I tow a trailer with my 4 wheeler, and other items from time to time...haven't yet tried with the 4runner...

If you go on the Autozone site you can search the years. I think it was up to 2002.5 for the 199's.

Now that mine are all bedded in nicely I can say there is a massive difference in braking power and smoothness. It is the way it should be...
