Finally! I am officially a 3rd Gen Owner!

Hey everyone,

I've been lurking here for just over 6months on a daily basis...soaking up loads of intelligence, information, and stealing a lot of your guys' pictures to drool over.

Two days ago, after about 5 months of constant searching, searching, and more searching, I finally found THE ONE!

Here she is:

2002 4Runner SR5 SportEdition
Thunder Grey Metallic
124,000 miles

TB/WP maintenance completed @ 100k
Clean motor
Clean interior
Pretty clean exterior
Everything works!
2 Previous Owners
(The Chicagoland area does not have very many winners out there for sale!)








My plans for it are to complete all maintenance issues and repair the little things that drive me nuts (dings, dents, scratches, general filth). I have an AVS Hood Deflector on the way and painted the rear emblems and hitch.

After that I plan to black out the wheels and fit 275/75 terrain tires, small lift, roof rack, roof rack lights, and rear cargo storage setup. Hoping for more of an expedition/overland look.

newest year (for 3rd gen), and yet like the lowest mileage I've seen for people buying a 3rd gen.

On top of that, you have a hoodscoop and a really nice grey color! super clean too.

Right!! I had seriously been searching through every used car registery I could find for about 5 months. I came across this Runner on Craigslist. I spoke with the seller and he stated that he was tired of all the headaches with CL buyers and said he would unlist the ad and deal strictly with me.

I was in the process of selling my car through Craigslist as well, and it took me almost 3 months to sell it. This guy waited for me that whole time without re-listing the Runner! He bought it as a second vehicle in December 2012 with 111,000 miles...... so in the last 2 years he only put on 13K miles! The tires (all 5 were changed) have less than 2k miles on them.

I was so very lucky. Although I was about to give up on the whole prospect entirely because of all the headache dealing with most Craigslist buyers!

And on top of it all..... he hasnt got a clue about 4Runners. Just said he got it because it had 4WD...

Nice find! And in my favorite color too.
You also got the better looking wheels with it, I thought all '02 SE came with the coke bottle wheels...
