Finally, My Pics

May I ask where you picked up the drls? Did you change out all of your amber bulbs??

Thanks man.

goose,

i changed out all the exterior amber bulbs. the rear signals are now red instead of amber. the front markers and drls are hyper whites (similar to those bimmian interior lights). i picked them up from a local car shop. i'm sure you can find them at most car shops. i prefer polarg bulbs, but they didn't make the bulb type for the drls so i had to go with cuzo. the cuzo's don't match my other lights the way i like, so when they go out i plan on seeing if PIAA carries that bulb type. I suggest that you get polargs also because the color is nicer. I can wait til you get the price for the interior lights because that'll be a nice upgrade.

look at it sparkle!

Well, Trance, you made this thread on the same day that I registered and before I started becoming active here. I didn't get a chance to say that your rig made me reconsider my initially-negative opinion of the 4th gens. :yesyes:

In other words, I now use your rig as an example of how good a 4th gen can look. :)

hey thanks jayded. i was really close to buying a 3rd gen sports edition in black because of the rugged look. i really wanted that truck, but the interior and power of the 4th gen. made me want it more.

You mentioned you went with the cuzo, but in the pictures i think you have nokya arctic white stage 2's? Which one do you think gives off a whiter and brighter light? How about compared to the more expensive polargs and piaa? thanks!

i have teh nokya artics in my headlights.....the cuzo's are in my drl's, and they suck. if you want a white light.....i'd go with the piaa extreme whites. my nokyas give off a bluish light.

Great pictures. Black is really nice color but I can bet You have to spend twice much time to make it so shine than I on my titanium :D Also I see You have the same problem with a background as I do. Aren't those Chicagos alleys beautiful?

From what I remember you used to have Silvestar. If so how big difference is between those You have now?

About those plates in Illinois.... I paid 2 tickets for not having front license plate. First time someone stole it and I had police report for that but when I went to court it didn't help much and I had to pay it. :(
Second time I lost it and wasn't in a hurry to get new one so I got another ticket. But if You park your car in garage You should be fine. Mine was parked on the street and cops where looking for city stickers and obviously also license plates.

Again. Nice pics of a nice truck. :)

thanks krosno......yea...those chicago alleys are beautiful. i recently went up to milwaukee and took photos that i already posted here....search "milwaukee". i never had silverstars, but i can tell you the main difference is that the silverstars emit a white light rather than blue. sorry to hear about your plate problems.....good thing i put mine on. i was going to leave them off, but my folks convinced me to. i guess the cops don't mind if they're a little blocked by the bull bar. black is my favorite color for cars, and i don't mind the maintenance. it helps me relax my mind while i'm studying hard in college (yea right!) every time i see a silver 4runner...i check the plates to see if it's krosno. see ya around!

One of my headlights went out and I'm about to order the Nokyas, I'm wondering if I should get stage 1 (70W) or stage 2 (100W). I noticed you have stage 2. Did you upgrade the wire harness? Also is it enough to just upgrade the harness itself or should the whole length of the wire to the battery be replaced with thicker gauge? thanks.

there's no need to upgrade the harness. the stage two's are pretty nice. i bought them only as a temporary fix until i get HID's, but i ended up having them for more than a year now and i still like them.

cool, so nothing overheats with the stock harness? do you have the stage 2 in your fogs as well? they are the same 9006 bulbs right?

my harnesses have not melted so far. i asked the guy at my local shop if i should upgrade my harness, and he laugh and said "volkswagons are the only cars that have that problem". i figured why would he lie because he SHOULD want to make another sale by selling me harnesses. my fogs are changed also and yes they're also 9006.

Rear T&H Bar

If you get a chance, can you post some pics of your rear bar from different angles. Thx.

i thought i covered the rear bar pretty well in the first page of this thread, but sure thing luxury. i just need to get a hold of a digital camera first.

You're right. Those original pics are sufficient. I've had this problem with my monitor not being bright enough to see the details in the shadows. I put you first pics in another program and brightened them to see the details.

Now I am wondering about how the bar is angled down on the edges. Is that how it is supposed to be? vcoglian's looks like it is almost horizontal:
