Finally took this thing off-road

Well I finally got to take my 2014 Sr5P off road and I have to say that I'm extremely impressed. The truck and tires performed awesome (I have Goodyear Duratracs). Now granted the trails we were on were not super extreme as they are state park run but they were more challenging then I was expecting. Nice mix of pretty much everything, mud, water, rocks, and super decent hills. She went over everything without a hiccup, barely had to give it any gas through most of it. I've been trying to get off-road for years with my other trucks but just never got to it, mainly cause I never wanted to go alone and not sure where to go. Starting to make new contacts and more trips planned soon. I'd like to get into some overlanding also. Here are a few pics. I do have videos also, the guy I went with had a Go-Pro, so that was pretty cool

Yeah out on the trail you can tell that they really are offroaders. Though in the city they don't look much like it sometimes

I was going up Pucker Pass last month and a guy coming down it in a Silverado was all "It's pretty steep up there boy, not sure if you'll make it". Wanted to lay into him about body-on-frame truck 4x4 with ATRACK and a locker but just said something like "I've been up it before" and he was all "Ok, hope you don't break anything" Ugh.

Yep, you got it. Peters Mill and Taskers Gap. Heard of a few places around me to get muddy but not sure of the legality of them.

I used to ride my quad at Peters Mill / Taskers Gap all the time. If you travel a few exits further south on 81 and head up in yonder hills west of Harrisonburg / Bridgewater / Staunton, there is much more extensive and challenging trail network frequented by many of us.

A couple friends and I went through Peters Mill last year. It was fun, we're definitely going to head back to the Natl Park at some point this summer.

We are definitely going to head back there this summer, I think we are going to try to get out there right after a good rain for a little more added mud.

That sounds cool, when I was there it was pretty dry. I was disappointed, really didn't know what to expect. Was hoping we were going to get muddy, come to find out it was mostly rocky roads. Still fun though, just wanted to test the truck in mud holes. I still managed to come out the other end with the muddiest truck :trophy:

Post a thread on here when you guys go and Ill see what I can do to get my friends to meet up.

When we went it wasn't too bad, some mud and crossed a bit of water but you're right a ton of rocks. My neck was sore for two days afterwards from being knocked around.
