Finished my Wheels(pics) and put them on today. ( Thanks LINY for the inspiration)

Just put my wheels on yesterday. Quite surprised they fit without wheel spacers. I can barely fit a finger between control arm and tire. What do you guys think?

Painted them off. The prep work took me so friggin long, wouldn't recommend unless you have power tools. Kinda pissed they got alittle scuffed when tires were mounted but I expected it.hardly noticeable

I've done the wheel ring on my gsx-r before.. You can use pinstripe, its flexible enough to wrap around the wheel, you apply about 1 inch at a time (it wont tear) just very time consuming.

I saw him not too long ago (maybe a month) and he had FJ wheels with street rubber. I may be mistaken but I think he had his tires off of his Sequoia wheels and the wheels were no longer painted. I could be mistaken on the status of Sequoia wheels, I'm trying to remember as best I can. He definitely had FJ wheels with street tires though. I can't remember what he had planned next. Maybe he'll pop in, but he told me he hasn't been checking on the boards much.

He throws the FJ's on to run street, and throws the Sequioa's on the trail, at least thats how its been for the last few years.

As far as the red ring, that was also frustraighting. I sprayed the red first then taped as best I could. Its by no means perfect, If you look up close you can see flaws. However, I would much rather pay 300 for a set of factory wheels and do it myself then pay 1,500-2k. If anyones interested in doing them themselves and needs any advice I would me more than happy to give some pointers. There are a couple things I would have done differently....

I almost went that route. My concern was getting it to fit in the crease properly. Also, wasnt really sure about how to clear over it... Maybe next time.

Lol, your wheels look great, but it definitely would've saved you some time. The more I think about it though, I dont take my bike off road, and if you take your rig off road, you might pull the pinstripe off the wheels if you're going through heavy brush and what not. So I'm sure you did the right thing.

Looks great! Really dig the red accent. These and the LC's are definitely the two best looking stock wheels on the 3rd gens.
