so the time has come that i have enough money to start looking at a 4runner. i have been looking around on the forum for some time now and i think i know what i want. i think its going to be an 06-09 4WD, dont want limited because of rim size but other then that not that picky. are there any minor differences in 06-09 if so what. im thinking of getting white or black doesnt really matter. i guess my main question is what are the main problems i should look for when looking at them and what sites are there that will give me the history of the vehicles services at the dealer. cant wait to get one and start some mods.

went to a dealer today and got a price of 26,800 for a 2009 limited with 45k miles, nav, jbl, and leather seats. it looks great with no scratches that i can see. might go back after they clean the car. it was just traded in so it still had all the dirt and junk from the 1st owner. and for not being cleaned yet it looked good. they just put new tires and a windshield in it this morning so i was not able to drive it right away. trying to find out if that price is worth it, they said 26,800 is the lowest they can go so we will find out

I live in Oregon, unsalted roads.... I feel sorry for vehicles on the east coast. Last Spring I bought a 2003 4Runner that was from New York... lots of rust under it. I sold it a couple months later. Just take a careful look under it to make sure it's not a nightmare.

Nice '09! I picked up a meticulous '07 Limited with the 4.7L and 4WD earlier this week. When searching 06-09's with the V8 and under 50K miles in North Texas, there was one option, and it's in MY driveway! I seriously think no one had even sat in the back seat. Not a scratch, tear, or rattle to be found. It wasn't cheap, but it was worth it.

I've been browsing the forum, looking for upgrade ideas. But honestly, outside of maybe a 1" lift in the front, she's pretty good to go.
