Why would you need that? This was in the Ocala National Forest a few weeks ago. I would bet 8 miles for the closest paved road? Not much more you could do than stand back and watch.
I worry about the heat down here in FL. I had some pepper spray blow up in my old rig because the heat. I opened the door and got a face full. then to top it off after I wiped down the inside I used the same rag to wipe off the sweat - typical!

My dad's pickup was saved because of someone that had a fire extinguisher. Caught it very early. A few months later, he was able to return to favor to someone else by saving their pickup in front of the house.Colemanfu said:

I see something like this more often than I like. Some are older cars/trucks but newer vehicles too.
What causes something like this to happen?
BTW, I go surf fishing on the beach with the 4Runner and a fire extinguisher is required on some beaches in order to drive on. It is a small one I got from pepboys and it came with mounting brackets that I put in the frame of the side rear windows. I will try to post pics this weekend.

Having a fire extinguisher in your vehicle is a proactive thing to do. Whether or not any of us will encounter a situation that may require the use of the extinguisher should not be the factor in whether or not you should buy one. It's a cheap investment that could potentially save your life and/or your loved ones and others.
I'd say keep one in each vehicle and make sure it's fully charged once a year. What's a few bucks for one of these when we're spending ungodly mounts of $ on our fun mods

Mine rolls around the floorboard for now, but will be fixed once I can find a suitable place to mount it. I want it within reach of me and a passenger while buckled in. Worst case scenario is me being alone and trapped in a burning vehicle with the extinguisher in the cargo area out of reach.
I've been considering just in front of the driver's seat, on that ridge that the seat mounts to, but haven't decided anything yet.
And I've seen brand new vehicles burn up along the road, and the last thing I'm gonna do is watch my investment go up in flames on the side of the road. It will also come in handy should I ever be in the situation to put someone else's rig out, which thankfully has not happened yet.
