Fire's Build

The new stance looks great! :D

Thanks! I think so to. I don't know how guys are running those LC springs. I started off the the LX450 springs and then tried a set of 7.5 wraps, both were WAY to tall. I even checked with both springs to see how it would sit after the rear bumper by weighing it down and it was still way to tall.

So finally mounted up the last switch for now. Still have to wire everything but glad I finally found a home for all of them.

First are all the switches on the side..... There's just a few of them :D

Where did you get the bezel for around the switches?

Thanks,
Ben

Camping was great! Perfect weather, warm days and nice and cool at night. Runner did well pulling the camper, needs a regear for sure though.

Sounds like a great time!

I have a couple questions...

So your running the 890s, how is the spring rate towing the trailer?

How much tongue weight does the trailer have, and how much gear did you have in the back of the 4Runner?

Hey Kevin hows that thing do on gas with the tires and towing a trailer?

It wasn't really long enough of a trip to calculate off of, only 30 mins each way from home so I didn't pay much attention to it. It did drink a little bit though mainly due to the fact that I had to cross a mountain to get there.... literally.

The 890's felt great with the trailer on, as you can see in the pic it sagged a little but not to bad at all. I'm not totally sure what the tongue weight is off hand but pretty decent. 2 of us still can't really pick it up. As far as gear in the runner, it was totally empty with the exception of me, the wife, son and dog. I pile everything in the trailer. Next time I have it out I'll see if I can get a weight on the trailer and tongue.

Over all so far I'm really happy with the 890's. There's not near the body roll as there was with the LC springs and I don't think they ride harsh at all, just has a good solid "planted" feeling.

OTRATTW.COM

to grandmother's house we go :D

love that site.. I get all my rockers there. All my spots are filled up. I'm thinking of getting the 6 channel one and putting it below the cd deck to free up some space. I have to do a little measuring to make sure it will fit. Can't say that I have seen on in the 3rd gen runner, only in a '02 tacoma. Looks good man.

Been busy working on customer stuff and doing some repairs to the camper and haven't really been able to touch the runner. I've got my sliders most of the way built but that's about it. Finally got most of my typical day to day storage figured out.

So made a weekend trip to VA beach and back for the airshow. Pulled the camper down as well. I decided since I had a set of stock wheels and tires from a late model Tacoma sitting here I'd throw them on for the trip and spare the 35's the trip. Turned out I got between 15-16 mpg even while towing a 3500 lbs camper going 70. I was pretty stoked!

Just checking in to see what you've been up to on your truck. I saw the expedition tacoma you just built.. very sick!

I've abandoned my plans of getting a 4R so I'm now hoping to go see you for a fj t case swap maybe in the fall?

Do it!:thumb3:

I figure I should make my trip down there as costly as possible and get a wrap around rear bumper, cab mount chop, grille and headlight protection added to my front bumper, and the FJ case all in one shot!

Sound like a weekend job?
