Firestone Destination AT 275/70/70 LR C

Anybody running this tire and size ? Nice to see it does come in load range C .

I've got the next size up in load C; I have been using Destination A/Ts for a few years and really like them. They get little love on the forums because they don't look billy badass; but they are very good tires for true AT performance. Mine have done it all and only get hung up in deep loose sand or bottomless mud. For a mainly street truck with some weekend trail ability, I think they are about the best bang for the buck.

I run the Cooper A/T3 on my 2011. Just bought my wife a 2018 and think I'm going give these a try on her 4Runner.

Im in the same boat looking at different 275/70/17 options. Totally stuck between firestone destination a/t, cooper at3 or bfg ko2....or wait until January when the Falken wildpeaks will be out in 275/70/17.

Question: Would the on-road ride quality and/or mpg be any better in a load range C tire compared to a load range E tire if they are the same weight?

Fuel economy is weight based, ride comfort is (in part) based on sidewall stiffness, so..... no/ yes.

I had the cooper at3's on until about 3 months ago, when I switched to the firestones. So much better now, less road noise and less steering wheel shake.

So which would affect mpg more severely...a 44lb 285/70/17 or a 55lb 275/70/17. Basically, would the increase rolling resistance/width of the tire OR the tire's weight make more of an impact?

I run Firestone destination M/T. 285/70/17. They look badass,perform awesome and are quiet on the street. They are load range E though.
