Firestone won't align my truck?

My alignment is screwey after a recent wheeling trip and i wanted to invest in firestone's lifetime alignment package.

I called two different places and they both claim that they can't align a lifted truck and that they can only align to OE specs. I said that my alignment should fall within OE specs and that I don't have any aftermarket alignment parts.

I'm running the daystar 2.5/1.5 and 1.25" spidertrax

Now, I know several members have firestone lifetime alignments. Can someone please comment on this? What should I tell them?

So do you have any lift/suspension components? I have stock FJ suspension but also remember Firestone did my alignment when I had wheel spacers. I too have the lifetime alignment deal.

yeah, i'll edit the first post to include that. I'm running the daystar 2.5/1.5 and 1.25" spidertrax
 
FYI... in NoVA counties, If you have wheel spacers and/or suspension blocks (ie.. daystar spacers), You will fail safety inspection; Ergo is the reason why places like firestone will not touch your truck until you remove your spacers. Take them off and firestone will sell you their lifetime alignment.

This is one factor as to why I removed spidertrax wheel spacers so I could pass inspection.

I don't have the time to remove and reinstall my lift just to take it to firestone.. that's crazy.

I also live in DC, I could go to MD or there's one in southeast but it's sketchy. Plus, my truck is registered in NJ...

Yeah, goto MD or DC as NoVA is pretty anal about spacer blocks. Aside from county regulation issues, it's policy for most places like firestone to not touch spacers do to liability issues. MD does not have these laws for spacer block lifts, dunno about DC tho.

I bought the firestone lifetime alignment package a few months ago and had my alignment done 2 times in VA without any issues do to aftermarket suspension lifts, but I have shocks/springs.

I've had mine aligned at 3-4 different firestones over the past two years since I bought my lifetime alignment, never had any trouble.

Even when I had the LR UCAs and was up at 3" of lift they still had no trouble.

That's what i thought :shrug: I guess I'll just brign it in and see what they can do on Monday
 
It is really surprising they would offer lifetime anything on modified vehicles. Think about the liability , not to mention the guys who **** their trucks up every weekend and then go back for every little shake. (Charlie) lol. Just pay them for an alignment , shit happens on the trails man.
 
Im that guy i guess. I bought a year alignment with Big-O tires and i take it back with every little pull/change and whatnot. I paid, deal with it.
 
Sounds like in your area they might have different laws, check there fine print on there life time alignment, areas. Some insurances are like that also.
ghostridr said spacers, not the lift, so you could see if you removed your wheel spacers, they might do it. I know, pain in the a$$, problem when you live in certain areas. "We don't do that here in this state".

Edit- you might call there main branch also to verify.
 
Firestone has aligned mine 2x this year. No issues or questions. Oh and yes I am running AllPro wheel spacers. It's not like my bright blue anodized Fox suspension look stock..
 
I went to firestone for an alignment after installing Bilsteins and FJ coils and they had no problem honoring my lifetime alignment. However, it did take them 3 try's to get the alignment correct and steering wheel centered.
 
As others have said, it sounds like a local law issue. Try out of state, as you're within reasonable distance to several options. It's also a NATIONWIDE lifetime alignment, so it's good at ANY Firestone (that's willing to do it). Just for reference, my Audi is lowered on coilovers w/ wide 19" wheels & tires, & it too has a Firestone lifetime alignment.

Just an FYI, I got mine aligned this morning in Huntsville and had zero issues. The tech was great as I had to come out there and show him (aka-do it myself) how to work the LR UCAs. Not to rub it in but I got the Lifetime Plan for $159 too. I was definitely happy with the service there, especially after NTB tried to screw me over.

that will hopefully be in my future. I don't have the LR UCA, don't they just have an additional +2 Caster built in?

Correct, in the neutral position (SPC logo facing the tire), they give an extra +2 degrees. However, they can be adjusted to give all the way up to +4 degrees. As you probably already know, for the most clearance possible from the BM, its best to get as much Caster as possible from the LCA then fine tune the rest as needed with the LR UCA.

The only negative thing i'll say about them is the squeaking. I'm pretty sure its due to the washers they included at the time I bought mine but they have since redesigned them. They sent them to me for free but I have yet to re-install.

Firestone did it.
They claim that they can't adjust caster/camber because of the lift, but adjusted my toe. It feels tighter, but the steering wheel still sits off center. Can someone interpret this for me?
I figured the caster/camber could be out of spec because it's lifted? That's sort of how they framed it.

HELP
