Just thought i would share with you guys my first attempt at pathcing rust on the 4runner.

Started off with a screwdriver finding the rusty spots. Both rear wheel arches were rusted, the driver side being the worst by far. Once all the rust was found i took a wire wheel to it all. After cleaning up the rust this is what i was left with

there was also a large hole in each rocker panel that had to be filled. (but no pics of before)

Heres how the passenger side started to shape up

Since i had a bunch of primer and paint, i decided to paint the hood along with the rear fenders. the clear coat was peeling and looked like s***

And now the paint (i will eventually re-paint the car one solid color but i wanted something on there to protect it for now)

This should slow the rust down until Corey @ Toyotafiberglass.com makes the rear quarters for us 2nd gen. fellers. Thanks for looking!

Just realized i have no pics of the finished product. I'll take a few this afternoon and get em up here later

Post some pics when you're finished I want to see the final product :hungry:

Looks good! you doing the entire thing black?

:iagree:

I can't wait to see the finished product either. I have a little bit of rust in the same areas and have never dealt with rust before so I'll be following this post :jump:

Here's the finished product. Not the best pictures, I'm no photographer :artist:

Its not by any means perfect but im proud of myself for getting it done. This was my first time using bondo and my first time repairing rust on a car/truck. Now i just need to decide what color to paint the whole truck
