First mileage check for my new 2011 4R TE

My son and I drove from Denver to our elk hunting area south of Fairplay, CO. The route involved about 200 miles of mountain highways and about 25 miles of Forest Service dirt roads. The Lie-o-Meter said 20.5 mpg average while hand calculation said 21 mpg. I was amazed at how good the truck meter was.

I thought the fuel mileage was very good considering the good power of the engine.

We encountered a little icy snow and some muddy sections at 10,500 ft. I tried the A-Trac system and it seemed to work.

Son John is the hunter, I am the camp watcher because I cannot hike the hills anymore.

The tracks we saw indicated they were still above 10,500 ft. They don't come out of the black timber for photo sessions at 11 a.m.
