First post = first question...

Hello,

This is my first post but I have been lurking here for several weeks. I picked up my 2011 SR5 4 Runner four days ago. I've already replaced the OE Bridgestone Dueler H/T tires with more agressive Hankook Dynapro AT-m tires. I have ordered front and rear Bilstein 5100s. I plan to set the fronts at .85 for a leveling effect.

My question is this. The 5100s will be installed about one week after I picked up my new 4R. The 4R will have about 150 miles on it by then. After the 5100s have been installed, should I have an alignment performed? If yes, should I wait a couple of days for the new system to "settle" (whatever that means) or should I have the alignment done immediately?

Thanks for the input.

P.S. I ran a search but was not able to find an answer to my question. I am sure that the problem was my weak search skills.

give it some time to settle...then get it aligned. I would not drive long distances for a few weeks--in case of major misalignment--you should be able to eyeball that though. If you get one of those lifetime alignments then do it right after and then maybe a month later.

Thanks for the advice. I was thinking about getting a lifetime alignment but the nearest Firestone store is 45 miles away in another state.
