Where do I begin... one week ago I wasnt even thinking about 4Runner let alone any Toyota product. I was set on replacing my 2004 Chevy Trailblazer EXT with a GMC Acadia. Yup I "was" a GM kinda guy. I pull a 17' Lund fishing boat and camp alot (under 3800 lbs).

So I knew about the Toyota reputation for reliability and quality engineering, and have seen the evolution of the 4Runners but never really took a serious look... that is until last week. I know I am preaching to the choir here but wow, not much comparison to what I was considering.

I maintain my vehicles better than anyone I know and my Trailblazer still dropped an engine (broken exhaust valve). Mobile One since the 1st oil change. I had a Jasper engine put in to buy some time until I would get the Acadia.

Last week I started reading about the 5th Gen and took a couple test rides. So it is so long GMC and I will be hunting down a new 4Runner now. I will contribute along the way. I understand the current inventory issues. I would like a TE in black but those are not available in Illinois. I dont care for moon-sun roofs. So the quest begins much to the surprize of myself and my wife.

Welcome aboard. I'm a relative newbie myself but have been learning a lot.

Took me 6 months to find my 4R (2001), but well worth the wait.

Sounds like you're doing good research into what you want and don't want. Keep that up and you'll be able to find exactly what you want. Good luck and happy searching.

Hey, welcome to the family. A 4Runner should be a "slight" improvement over your Trailblazer. I am trying to put is subtly! You have come to the right place to answer all your 4Runner questions.

I have been on 4 test drives now (2 SR5's and 2 Limited's) and really like the X-REAS of the limited.

I have 2 more dealers to get to after work today. I know I could just call but the test drives are fun.

I love the XREAS suspension on my 4th gen 4Runner. At least I am not the only one who noticed a difference Test drives are so much fun until the price negotiations come up.
