Hi Guys,

I have done some research so I didn't just post this without looking around first.

I'm looking at two kits from Toytec.

First is the OME Full FJ/4Runner Suspension
885 Med front coils
No top plate spacers
Front Diff drop kit
895 Medium rear coils
60004 Shocks

This comes out to $1003.96

The other option was 3" Lift w/ Bilstein 5100 height adj coilovers. It was only $909 for this kit.

Inclination was to go for option 2, but I wanted to see what you guys said.

I have a 2005 V8 Sport. 195k miles. No other upgrades (yet)

Question is pretty simple.. Do you want height adjustability on the front shock/spring assemblies or not?

Personally I'd put down the extra coin and go with the Toytec Ultimate Kit, or pony up a bit more for Icon front coilovers and springs/shocks in the rear.

What do you want out of your lift?

Better OEM quality ride and basic off-roadability. Want to be able to run a bit bigger tires.

I'm not a hardcore offroader. I just hunt and fish and want to be able to get where I need to go and improve the looks and functionality of the vehicle a bit.

You don't want the OME kit... I ran it for a few months, and the wife thought the ride was almost unbearably stiff. Then we upgraded to Icons...

If you want to spend money get a set of coilovers but Bilstein 5100s will be fine for what you want to do.

If you want OEM quality ride, don't go with ToyTecs, they were super stiff and very uncomfortable. rode them for 5k miles before selling them and going for a set of Icons. Just pay a bit more upfront for Icons or Foxes and get some good quality stuff.

ToyTecs are just a hybrid of off the shelf bilstein 5100 shock with a coil over it. so you wont get the nice ride quality you'd get from a traditional coilover, like with the icons
