First snow in 4R!

Well i finally got some snow!

I was surprised that it did well in 2wd, but 4H was awesome! Got to test it out for about 2 hours and didn't slip once! Didn't even need 4L!

I kept it around 30-40mph in 4H.

Nice. Yeah you don't ever need 4lo unless it's temporary extreme conditions, like trying to get out of your driveway with 2' of snow, pulling a bigger boat out of a launching ramp, rockcrawling, etc. Even deep mud and sometimes deep snow you probably want the wheel speed of 4hi rather than 4lo. And you would likely turn your VSC off to do so or the nannies get too involved.

I use 4WD LOW when I go on the beach in Florida.. sand is very soft and fluffy..the runner runs though the sand like a military tank..

I have seen other 4WD trucks on the beach and they had movement issues ..GM/FORD/RAM ...wheels spinning sand flying ..

Just something i noticed. When I disengage 4H the green 4H light seems to stay lit for short time after i disengage 4H?

I try to engage/disengage 4H in N or at slower speeds but i have not tried to do it at like 50mph. Does it matter?

Completely normal. When you shift into 4WD, the light will blink until the ADD solenoid in the front diff engages. When you shift back into 2WD the light will stay on until the ADD disengages.

No snow here in southern Missouri. Found some near Traverse City Michigan over Thanksgiving. Had to go play off road in it.

Daughter is spending the winter in college up there in Traverse with the new to us 4runner.
Tested it out in some snow a week ago. She feel a lot more confident than she did with the HHR. :biggrin1:
First time I've been in snow in decades.

I've been thoroughly impressed so far with mine. No wild and crazy rear end like my pickup. Feels great, drives surefootedly.

I should mention I did the H9 conversion for the low beams. I've been very happy with it so far.

I hate snow but I am curious to see how mine does especially with the Falkens on it. It's been pretty snow-less on LI so far and I'm really not complaining lol.
