First start on replaced engine

I'm finally getting close to finishing the replacement engine in my 96 4runner.
The 99 engine with 120k has been reworked for new seals, tb, wp and oil pan gasket. I checked the vlave clearance (one slightly out) and added some assembly lube to the one pulled cam.
I added oil across valve train prior to buttoning up. So 3 cams with basically dry bushings.
I did add vasoline to oil pump prior reinstalling it.
Added some oil in each cylinder.

Now the question (finally):
a. should I pull the ignition fuse and crank the engine w/o spark plugs to prime pump? Or will it prime and supply quick enough on first start up?
b. Is there some place to add oil to prime the oil pump?

Thanks for some guidence.

Just finishing the thread.
I had job issues going on, so the 4runner sat outside with the engine in the garage. So last week I got it installed. Really not too bad, even all by myself (though it was important to have pulled the radiator).
Fired right up!
Runs smooth and gets my 21 mpg on the highway!

Funny thing though. The brakes were intermitten. Sometimes the boost would work, sometimes not. Usually works first time after a few minutes of not using them. But an immediate pump and no assist.
What your guess????/

Here's the answer, a stupid mud wasp built a mud nest in the open hose going to the boost. Once cleared all better!! LOL
