First Thread/Practically Stole It

I recently acquired a fully equipped 2001 3rd Gen limited with 166,000 on it. Only 1 owner and garaged for $6000.00. Not a scratch on either the interior or exterior and everything works great minus the antenna. It came with an Alpine head unit, 12" competition Boston sub in a custom enclosure in the rear. All Boston components all the way around. 500 watt 5 channel dolby digital Alpine amp under front driver and an 1200 watt 2-channel Alpine amp under the passenger. The system didn't work any longer, so I took it to the car audio guy in town, he replaced a fuse on the sub(yes the sub itself is fused) now the entire set-up is rockin. He told me the system is 6 years old, but in its day, probably costs upwards of what I paid for the vehicle. I took it to my mechanic(who will only work on Toyotas by the way) to get it checked out and he immediately offered me $10,000.00 for the 4runner.

This is the vehicle I've been looking for for over 2 years.

LET THE BUILD-OFF BEGIN.

Welcome solar4runner. Its great to find a truck in that good of condition so you can put money into mods :frog:

Man I would have sold it in a second for $10000. A 4 grand profit, that sounds pretty good! Sounds like a really nice truck, can't wait to see some pictures.

$6k is a deal but you could drop $10K on a T4R and really have a story to tell!

Welcome to T4R solar4runner

That's a heck of a deal and a good start.

If you have any basic questions referring to your new rig they've most likely been thoroughly discussed. So, please look for the master info sticky at the top of the 3rd gen section.

Now show us some pics!!

Welcome to the Forum! Sounds like you got a good deal if the mechanic was that impressed with it as well.

ps. Used to go to school at ERAU... kinda jealous with all the wheeling you all have in your area.

Congrats on the truck. Post pics already.

I'd loose the mechanic that is dumb enought to offer 10k. And only work on toyotas.
A real mechanic will work on anythjng.
