My faithful Sante Fe couldn't stand the thought of another Minnesota winter so she called it quits. As a more family friendly alternative to the FJC and a more robust alternative to a Highlander we picked an 06' SR5. After 2 weeks I couldn't be happier with the choice. It's all stock but I have a feeling that if I keep hanging around here that may be changing.
My inspiration for the 4Runner is from the Land Cruiser(s) my family had as a kid in east Africa back in the mid 80's. In fact, a friend from that era recently came across the very LC we used to drive. It has new owners but is making trips back and forth to South Africa even after all these years. It didn't look like much but the truck would go through anything and on more than one occasion got us out of a heap of trouble just in time. So for the 4Runner my hope is that of discretely but capable family hauler much like that LC.
