First time Toyota owner- 15' 4Runner Limited

As of Saturday, I'm no longer a Chevy owner but instead a Toyota Owner and I am ECSTATIC. First and foremost, I grew up with my dad only purchasing GM vehicles and in my short life I've owned three Chevy's. I honestly thought that I would stay a Chevy man but right after my 2011 Tahoe hit 60,000 I started having various problems, from cold start issues to rattles to electrical to rack and pinion problems and leaks. (this seemed to be a theme with all of my gm vehicles) I HATED THE GAS MILEAGE. I knew if I didn't trade it in soon my value was going to hit the floor. I made Saturday the day to pull the trigger. After looking at a 69,000 dollar Tahoe, I said to myself, "what does this have the 4Runner doesn't?" Only thing I could think of was the 4 runner doesn't have remote start and it doesn't have a v8. I ended up going with a pearl white Limited loaded 4x4. After 7 hours of negotiation it was mine. While I really do wish it had more power, everything else is fantastic. It's tight, well built, and extremely quite, not to mention capable. I freaking love it. I get excited just to drive it.

Again, only complaint. MORE POWER.

Can anyone recommend a supercharger or turbo set up? I'm looking for a company to do a turn key upgrade. I've read the thread about CAI but I'm looking for more. Mixed reviews make me uneasy to spend 400.00 on something that I may not feel.

Also, anyone put a leveling kit on their 15' Limited? Looking to do that soon.

Lastly, anyone care to share MPG on their limited. I'm currently averaging 13.5 and I feather the throttle to keep that eco light on. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Don't worry about what the dash mileage meter says just yet, it takes several tanks before it's even close to accurate. After a few tanks, reset it every fill up (Hold the mode button for a few seconds on the steering wheel) Mine is generaly pretty accurate, within +- 0.5 mpg.

In the mean time calculate yourself at the pump. Now if you are 100% short trip city driving, 13.5 might be actual, but general normal driving should be around 18-19 or so.

More power may be hard to come by, There are some things you can get small gains with (intake/exhaust) but nothing else for the 5th gens really. Super charger looks like it's on perma hold right now Get used to just pressing down or punching down the accelerator a bit quickly rather than pushing it down slowly (Not necessarily FLOORING it, just like pop it down an inch quickly when starting from a dead stop and it won't hesitate), that'll get it moving quicker

Lots of options for lifting and leveling. I'd spend a bit of time browsing the forums, so many choices and price ranges

Love the 4runner but all the chrome on the Limited's look like a cheap Pep boys build. That is my opinion and it differs from most. I think against the pearl white it will look better though. Definitely made a wise decision crossing over to the 4R. I wish they would bring the V8 back to the 4R. I concur with research before pulling the trig on a lift/leveling kit. It depends if you are going for look vs capability.

Nice 4runner! I got mine from the same dealer a couple of weeks ago. Almost got white too, but decided on the Magnetic Gray instead. Congrats!

Welcome! That's funny.. that story is almost similar to me too. I grew up with Chevy's, so naturally I went Chevy. After my 4th one and a lot of money spent on all of them, I'm finally in a 4Runner and I'm sooo sold on it. hah.

Nice new 4runner! I would highly suggest the TRD intake system. I added it last weekend and the sound is great. Gives it a nice throatty sound around 1/2 throttle and I have gotten better MPG's out of it as well. I come from lots of cars with modified exhaust and intake systems and my 4runner needed it.
