Hi all. First let me say how awesome it is to have access to a forum like this. I've been considering the purchase of a 3rd gen 4Runner for a couple of weeks and during that time I've used your forum to research issues, tweaks, and general information gathering - what a great community you have here!
Now the meat: I just purchased a 1999 4Runner Limited (pics to follow) with 102,000. The vehicle is in GREAT shape with no major mechanical, electrical or cosmetic issues - and I got it for a steal (at least I think I did). The dealer I purchased it from is a friend of mine and the 4Runner was a trade from a friend of his - he was able to get all the service records and confirm that this vehicle was well cared for - the only issues were that it needed a new battery, and the valve covers replaced. Prior to purchase I drove it for three days making sure it was going to "meet my needs" - and it did, and was a great ride.
I already have an issue with the vehicle, but want to make sure I post that to the right thread/sub!
