So far I really like it. It takes a little extra effort to get the bed lined parts cleaned up because the dirt likes to stick to it, but you really just have to hit it with a scrub brush and some elbow grease.

FR4R, nice build man! I'm always glad to see another fisherman on board (guessing you like to throw the long rod for trout based on your stickers).

Thanks BFAD! I definitely love to fly-fish for trout, there is no beating it and it takes me to some awesome places (as you know I'm sure!). Oh and the supercharger is great, it makes the 3rd gen that much better :driving:

Got my Midland 1001LWX CB radio installed. I still need to wire it but I am waiting for the Outdoor Logic antenna mount to get here. I followed 4-Ripcord's write-up on fitting the radio in the ash tray spot. I also decided I didn't want my handset to be mounted under the ignition, so I mounted it in the cubby next to the power outlets.

Not an update on mine, but it is 4runner related.

I helped my brother put a 1" body lift on his 4th gen last weekend, it all went smoothly until the airbag light came on, broke a spiral cable apparently. He had to head back to school, and there is no Toyota dealership where he lives so I'm driving the 4th gen until its fixed.

Much different feel compared to my 3rd gen, but I definitely like it. Plus the 4th gen body style looks mean when you get them off the ground.

Did a little wheeling up in the hills this morning with [MENTION=82211]TCMach[/MENTION]. The trail we ran is easy, but it was a good time.

Part way up Stump Hill I turned around because Tyler's truck was acting up at the bottom. The supercharger came in handy to keep the tires moving on up.

You were in as far as you could go! Riding the budbuilts like a sled. And yeah, the license plate mod is pretty original. Might do a write-up on it.

Thanks BFAD! Yeah the hill wasn't too bad really. I had tracks to follow which was nice so I wasn't worried about hitting a buried stump!

I love the powdercoat on the LC wheels, but silver on your '97 is so classy! Those were a big influence in my decision to get them honestly.

The snow was awesome. I'm ready for more up there now. I'll send my brother the love on the Revolvers. Those wheels really grew on me, I didn't like them at first but now I think they look great.

I'm headed to Moab for a few days early next week! arty:

Super excited. The plan now is to run Fins & Things, Hells Revenge and Top of the World. That's probably all the time we will have for trails. I think I should be able to handle the easy lines on the above trails. Everyone I have talked to so far seems to agree.

In preparation for the trip I picked up a Viair 400p portable compressor and a clevis shackle for the hitch receiver. I will also be changing diff and transfer case fluids and greasing my driveshafts before leaving. I think I should be good to go on maintenance other than that.

Should have plenty of pictures to put up here afterwards!

Moab

It's finally time to get pictures up from Moab. It was an awesome trip, I can't believe it took me so long to go! I want to go back already. We camped at Upper Onion Creek in the canyon along Highway 128 for two nights and wheeled three trails. We also hiked Mill Creek, which is more of a walk but it was still beautiful. I wish we could have spent more time out there, but now I have an excuse to go back. On to the pictures...

First up: Top of the World

The trail is not too bad, it's rated a 3-4 which seems appropriate. Some small ledges, and CO style wheeling with loose rock/dirt and step-like stuff mixed in.

More Moab

The next day we ran Hell's Revenge, it's rated a 5-8 and the way we ran it was the 5 I'm sure. We skipped the escalator, tip-over challenge and the hot tubs. We also couldn't take the super steep side of some of the ledges due to approach angle issues. This trail is pretty much all slickrock, which is so fun to wheel on. This trail came highly recommended and I see why so many people like it. Lots of steep ups and downs (I scraped my hitch A LOT) and some amazing views. I would definitely run this one again.

Last of Moab

And finally on the last day we ran Fins n' Things, which was a mix of slickrock, sandy creek bed-esque parts and some loose rocks/dirt and whatnot. This trail was fun, but Hell's Revenge kind of ruined me I think and I kept comparing the two in my head as we ran it. There were some optional hills on this that were pretty steep, we ran a couple but skipped the steepest ones. This was the only day with cloud cover, so we took fewer pictures.

This part got a little interesting. On the left-hand side of the photo you can see the dark ramp-like part that you are "supposed" to go down. I thought my buddies went down the ledge, so I had my passenger tires about where the dog's head is, he is about 24" tall at his back. My co-pilot told me there was like a 3-foot ledge, but I went off anyways (luckily I missed the really big part!) Came down pretty hard on the frame rail when the suspension compressed as the front tires dropped off, and I scraped my bumper as the back tires came off. I also broke one of the front SR5 mud-flaps, but I should be able to salvage it. I checked underneath and it doesn't look like anything is out of place, so that's lucky!

The scrape isn't too bad, the rear bumper is ugly as it is.

Other than the busted mud flap and scraped bumper, I bent one of the brackets for the parking brake cable on the rear axle on Top of the World. I'll just hammer it back into place. I also tore a brake line, but apparently not all the way through because it isn't leaking.

That was all we had time for, then it was time to head back home. I easily could have spent 10 days out there. So much wheeling and hiking is available, and we didn't have time to check out Arches or Canyonlands National Parks, but my list of what to do next time is already started...

I'll put the hot tub on the 'maybe' list for next time :roll:

I'd chop it under. I just hated the way mine looked with the CBI and that ugly exhaust pipe hanging down. Time to get out the :flamethrwoer2:
