So as the last picture in the previous post shows, at some point in Moab last year (probably at the Dunes trying to jump ha), I flattened a cam tab enough to where the control arm was moving around while I was driving. And at least 2 other tabs were slightly bent, but not completely flattened. I didn't have a welder and we had a busy summer with trips and weddings so the truck sat broken for a while in the garage.
I started collecting parts late last summer so that I could fix the cam tabs, and added some new things. Also had to buy a welder, a Hobart Handler 140, and ended up buying a small air compressor for the garage (should have bought one with a bigger tank).
Parts installed:
- Total Chaos cam tab gusset kit - chiseling the factory cam tabs off was really terrible when I was doing it by hand. I bought an air compressor so that I could run an air chisel just for this job. Had my brother weld them on.
- Energy Suspension poly steering rack bushings
- CBI Hybrid rear bumper w/ custom swingout by 52Eighty that I bought from TCMach
- spare tire - 255/85/16 BFG KM2 on a Mickey Thompson Classic III wheel from Dirtco (bought this thing like 2 years ago and it has sat in the garage since)
- Budbuilt Skids (front skid from EatonKyleH, rear skid from Dirtco)
- OME 861s
- 1/2" body lift from Fat Pat's
- regreased all 4 SPC UCA bushings as they were squeaking/groaning like crazy, I pressed the sleeve out of each bushing and regreased it with CV joint grease and they are noise free again now.
So here is how the truck is sitting now after I got it aligned yesterday:
