fit 3 car seats?

Does anyone have any experieicne with trying to fit 3 car seats in a 4runner? We'll end up with 2 Britax Roundabouts and a toddler booster or transition seat. I have about 4 more months to decided if I need to sell the car or not. Any guesses on if they'll all fit? I know it would be extremely tight but can it be done?

Funny you should ask that!

My wife's mini van, aka kidlet mobile went into the shop today for hopefully minor repairs.

Once we got there I realized that it was now or never to fit 3 full size car seats, (convertibles from infant to 80#) in the 4Runner, (this was something I used as a selling feature to my wife, but had never tried it).

Managed to get all three seats in the back no problem, (other than the kids have to set close together and can pick on each other).

Once the seats were in and the kids were loaded they were explained, "Daddy's rules for riding in his truck" in my best Marine Drill Instructor voice:

• No pooping
• No peeing
• No eating
• No drinking
• No putting stickers on anything
• Your hands and feet will be kept in the area enclosed by your car seat at all times

I don't think we would want to take a long road trip that way but for a short hop around town it worked ok.

I can tell you that the reason I have my 4Runner today is because the previous owner wanted to fit 3 baby seats in the back but couldn't. He got a Chevy Tahoe instead, and I got his '02 4Runner. Sucker.

I have had to do the same thing a few times and found that it is a tight squeeze. I have 2 kids in car seats and if we have another someday I think I will try to put a third seat in the back that you can get from performancproducts.com for around $600 or so. I know it will take up the back end but I really love my ride and the 22 mpg I get with it on the highway.
